Bobby Gallagher I'm a big fan of Brent's writings for the MRTC RoadRunner magazine, it was inspirational and uniting of the running community in how he featured folks' and their stories. It was easy to take for granted the inspiration of the RoadRunner magazine keeping it in the bathroom library but having Brent's musings and thoughts of running and his interviews with the running community lingering in my head all week made me look forward to lacing up my shoes and meeting my buddies for a run.
Brent was a really great person. I've worked with him many times at bridge events. I've never heard him bad speaking about anyone. He was always willing to help other people, give other people opportunities, without taking credits, just because he wanted to do what he thought was right. I am one of the people he really helped and I am and will always be very grateful to him for everything he did for me. One day we talked and he said that he wanted to be a good man, a good person, help other people. I can rember how his eyes were just humble, pure, kind. I am sure he is in a better place now, a place where he really deserves to be. Thank you Brent, it was a big honor to be your friend and work with you. I will always think about you with a smile in my heart and I will try to follow your example.

I served on the Memphis Runners Track Club Finish Line Crew and Board with Brent from approx. 2001-2020.  When he became editor of our monthly Newsletter/Magazine we gladly granted his requests for additional funding to create an award winning product that really appealed to our members.  Brent came out one Spring and observed my team measuring a 5K in Collierville for Certification by USA Track & Field.  From that visit Brent composed a very complimentary and detailed newspaper article discribing our activity based on his observations.  This article appeared in the Memphis Commercial Appeal in June 2013.  Brent's success as our editor was certainly reflected in his extremely high IQ but I also remember that he sometimes had difficulty navigating to race locations to help with our Flinish Line Crew activities.  We all hated to hear of his dementia and post Covid we no longer have a monthly newsletter rather depending on Social Media to communicate information to our members.  Everyone really misses the 'Human Interest' stories Brent was able to share with our membership.

Brent was one of the kindest persons I ever knew. I am proud to call him my friend and main running buddy since 1996. He often talked about his love for Donna.
Brent loved bridge and running, both of which fit nicely with a love of travel. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Red Sox, Texas Longhorns and tennis. We had a wonderful life together for 32 years.
