I am a better human being today because of the relationship that Brent and I had. He was a positive, encouraging, enthusiastic, and spiritual man. God allowed me the privilege of getting to know him at a time in my life when I needed this type of love and example the most. He genuinely cared about others well-being. I miss you terribly my friend. Thank you for never giving up on me. I feel like you are still with me on my journey, reminding me that “David, you aren’t here for you” Thank you for always being you. I will see you on the other side, once my time comes. I love you, brother ❤️🙏🏻
My heart is with you, dear Donna. ❤️❤️

Scarlett & Stella your dad was beaming with pride at the grace that shined through you both at his Celebration of Life.

Donna you captured Brent's passion for humility, life, humor and love. He will be missed by so many, but his service to others and his God will live on forever.

It was an honor to be on the same train car with him for the last 7 years.

THE TRAIN OF LIFE

“At birth, we board the train and meet our parents, and we believe they will always travel by our side.

As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they will be significant i.e. our siblings, friends, children, and even the love of your life.

However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone.

Others will step down over time and leave a permanent vacuum.

Some, however, will go so unnoticed that we don’t realize they vacated their seats.

This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells.

Success consists of having a good relationship with all passengers requiring that we give the best of ourselves.

The mystery to everyone is: We do not know at which station we ourselves will step down.

So, we must live in the best way, love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are.

It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.

I wish you all a joyful journey.” Unknown

It was a deeply moving service, Jones ladies. Tears were shed here. You did a great job. He is proud watching over you. The text Scarlett shared was so deeply touching and poetic and supportive.  Sweet and strong at the same time. So like Brent. Stella has his fire and truth. Every person who spoke was filled with love for him. In a very tough time, you made it beautiful. Thank you. ❤️

Oh, how hard this is. To a wonderful man, best friend, son, brother, husband, father all around best guy I know! I was so lucky to have known him, and the memories. He walked in a room, and it lit up with his prescience. I will miss that. Yet, I will try to live by his positive way of thinking and share that. L❤️VE YOU BRENT

Christine

I was staying in Ventura for a couple of nights and Brent and the girls drove over to spend the day at the beach. We had a great time even though the water was chilly. He was loving the boogie boarding!

  1. I feel blessed to have met Brent. Though I did not know him well, he made a positive impression on me. I’ll always remember something he said about life:  “It’s all ABOUT LOVE, man!  We’re here to LOVE one another… THATS what it’s about!”  His passion for recognizing joy in life was contagious. While his  physical presence on this Earth is missed, I will remember his example and aspire to carry that love and joy to others as he did.  Rest In Peace, Brent.

Although I did not know Brent personally, he was a dear friend to my brother Russ Hadley for many years and I always heard stories of him. Joann and Bob, I send my most sincere and heartfelt condolences to you and all in your family. I pray that all of you find peace and eventually joy in the memories of Brent’s amazing life. A light extinguished is not lost, it lives on in your heart and soul forever.
We will forever hear his hearty laugh and see his contagious smile.  Brent was one in a trillion and made all feel the same way.  We met the Jones family on Ayres Avenue in West LA and shared many front yard BBQs, sunsets, water balloon tosses, sidewalk chalk art galleries, but best of all -the Fourth of July block party.  We will hold these memories close in our heart, and raise a glass today and on the Fourth to our kind, funny, charming, happy, brilliant, loving friend.  We love you Donna, Scarlett and Stella and feel what we're sure is a fraction of your loss and heartbreak.  We were blessed to know him.  Lisa & Paul Tyler, Mary, RJ and Martha
Brent was an inspiration to me from the moment I met him and my respect grew as I watched him over time not just talk the talk but walk the walk. Those people are rare and I have seen enough people come and go to know he was the real deal.  Rest In Peace Brent , I am a better person to have known  you! You are not gone really because you will not be forgotten in our hearts.

Bob, Joann and family..I am so sorry for you loss, as someone who has also lost a child I can understand your heartbreak. You are in my prayers.
My heart goes out to you and your family Donna.  When I heard the news of Brent's passing it just didn’t make sense. Still doesn’t.  May peace somehow find its way to you and your loved ones.

In 1981, my first year teaching Junior HS - Brent was my student in wood shop class. He was one of those smart kids that easily grew bored with not being challenged enough. He and his buddies routinely took it upon themselves to side track whatever I had planned for the period. This led to a rather unfortunate episode of exchanging nicknames with each other. That is when I got to meet Bob & Joann after school in the Principles office. Fortunately, (for me) they are very down to earth people and we worked things out. Later that year, I was at the school after hours and I ran into a couple of guys who were coaching Brent and his buddies basketball team. Rusty & Bill had been sucked into (their words) coaching by Brent because they had to have a coach in order to participate.  At least that's the way I remember it. Rusty & Bill have been my best friends since then. So through the years I have heard about Brent and his milestones from his family and friends. Brent even participated in our annual Fall Training campout event for the last few years. It was great seeing him there. I enjoyed hearing about his wife and kids and what he has been working on.  I am truly heartbroken that I won't be seeing him again. He was a good soul with a lot of charisma and a killer smile. God bless you Brent and all your family and friends.

I'm heartbroken. I met Brent at a film festival and he hired me to write a script for him. He believed in me as much as I believed in him. I was impressed by his enthusiasm for life, his big dreams, his bigger heart for people. He was a strong man of faith who impacted everyone he met. I don't have the words to say how much he'll be missed. I'll be praying for you, Donna, and your beautiful girls.
