Dear Elaine, Amanda, Kristen, and family,

I was so saddened to learn last night of Bob’s passing, and I wanted to reach out with my heartfelt condolences. Even though some months have passed, please know that your family is very much in my thoughts.

During the time when you were at ECBC, I had the privilege of interacting with your family, and Bob always left a warm impression on me. He carried a natural friendliness that made every conversation feel genuine. It was clear how proud he was of his daughters, and even as he faced health challenges, he continued to show such positivity and grace.

Watching the memorial video allowed me to see even more of his loving heart—especially the tenderness he had toward his family and grandchildren. It was a beautiful reflection of a life lived with devotion, kindness, and quiet strength.

May God’s comfort surround each of you, and may the memories of Bob’s love continue to shine warmly in your hearts.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside still waters.

He restores my soul.” — Psalm 23:1–3

With sympathy and prayer,

Dear Elaine and family,

As we remember our dear brother Bob Chang today, we thank God for his faithful life and gentle spirit. Though we miss him deeply, we rejoice knowing he is now resting in peace with our Lord.

May God’s comfort and peace be with you, Elaine, and your family, as you take comfort in knowing Bob is home with Him.

Dear Auntie Elaine, Amanda, and Kristen,

Our sincere condolences as we grieve with you the loss of your dear husband and father.  Bob's friendly smile and kindness will be missed by all of us.  I can't believe how many years have gone by.  Amanda and Kristen are mom's and you are a grandmother?   How time flies.  Look forward to seeing you all one day and know that you are in our thoughts during this difficult time.

Fortunately our separation is temporary separation in Christ.  We thank the Lord and depend on Him.

Much love, from Peter & Pollie

Lloyd & Betty Steinke were so saddened to hear of Bob's passing. He was such a good friend and he will be greatly missed. We have such great memories of time spent with Bob & Elaine at their property in Mission, at our home in Langley, going out to eat, Camp Meeting at Hope, CHIP meetings, Health Share weekend & and so much more. At last years Health Share weekend we will never forget how happy Bob was that his Fasting Blood Sugar had dropped from 16 to 6 in 4 days with eating healthfully. He even got up and told the whole group of approximately 75 people. I know Bob loved Jesus and we will see him again when He returns. Rest in peace dear friend.
Dear Elaine, Amanda & Kristen,
Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the passing of our dear uncle Bob. May you find strength and peace in the beautiful memories you share and comfort in knowing that he will remain forever in our hearts.
With love

Bob had such a love of life and family and his Lord and Saviour.  He graced so many gatherings with his cheerful smile and friendly demeanour.   He will be greatly missed.  Our comfort is in knowing he is free of pain and suffering, that he fought hard and had some miraculous healing that allowed him to stay a bit longer with his beloved family, and that he is safe in the hands of his loving God.

Hey Bobby, We miss you.  Words fail us.

By God's grace, we shall all meet again.

Emmanuel!

Dear Elaine, Amanda & Kristen,

Our deepest condolences on the passing away of your dearest husband, and father.

We  remember Bob’s smiling face. He was always kind and gentle. He remained strong, joyful and faithful in God, despite all the illness and sufferings.

May  God’s comfort, strength and peace be with you all.

Bob was a fellow member of West Point Grey Baptist Church and a fellow member of the Men's Prayer Group that met every Tuesday 700 AM over Zoom, and on the first Tuesday of every month, at the church.  Like the other members, Bob was very comfortable sharing personal things with the members of the group, on the trust that everything shared would be confidential with the group.  As Bob's illness progressed, and his attendance became less frequent, he showed a quiet courage and always spoke optimistically and positively.

Bob is in the arms of Jesus now, but his presence will be missed.

May God be with you, Elaine, Amanda and Kristen.

Thank you, Bob, for being a wonderful and faithful brother in Christ. Your warm smile, kindness, and steadfast faith will continue to inspire us to run the good race. May you now rest in the Lord’s loving arms, surrounded by everlasting joy and peace.
We do miss Bob but are thankful that He is now resting in the presence  of God. In eternity, we will meet again. May God bless his family at this time of loss. May His peace be with them.

Please know that my heart and prayers are with you and your family as you prepare to lay Bob to rest. These tender hours of farewell are never easy, but they are also filled with the blessed hope that shines through our tears — the hope of the resurrection morning.

I won’t be with you at Bob’s memorial service as a number of people are depending on me to present a FULL POWER health program that day.

It was at a health program at Camp Hope that I first met Bob - such a kind gentleman. I remember how excited he was to get his blood sugar down to normal after years of having high blood sugar.

Bob always greeted me with a smile and he always did his best to lend a hand.
Dear Elaine, Kristen and Amanda,  May  the Lord give divine peace and strength  and comfort to you and your family as you grieve the loss of Bob. I will always remember his  warm smile  that never failed to greet me at church.  Am also grateful that we have the Lord's promise that we can  look forward to that happy reunion when He will wipe all the tears from our eyes.
We will always remember Bobby as the joyous, generous, and ever-ready to help brother in Christ. Even during his illness, one never hear him complain about anything. He has fought a good fight, run his race well and kept his faith. Now, surely, there is a crown waiting for him, not just for him, but for all those who are running this race. Rest in peace, Bobby, until we meet again in the heavenly banquet! We will look after Elaine.

To the family of Bob: Elaine, Amanda and Grant and children, Kristen and Jordan,

We wish to convey our deepest condolences for the loss of your husband and dad and grandpa.  He was indeed a very special man, with evident love, gentleness and kindness for others and a heart to serve God in humility.  May you be comforted that he is now in the bosom of His Father with a renewed body with no pain, sorrow, physical limitations or frailty. He is beholding His Savior's face and is in His presence. May the Spirit of God comfort you all as you mourn his passing. May the presence of God be very real at this most difficult of times.

With our deepest sympathies and continued prayers,

William and Madeline

AWANA club at ECBC had a toy car race event . Parents helped their kids assemble a wooden car kit for racing down a long ramp.  Bob was very involved and put together one of the best customized models at the race. It was a great looking car and had some unique features including weights which unfortunately were not allowed. Oops! I remember the disappointment on his face when we told him the weights had to come off. But his excitement for the race and his daughter's involvement was palpable. It impressed on me his dedication and joy for his children . A legacy his family can rejoice in.
