Blake's obituary

Blake Anthony Bozeman was born to parents Todd and TeLethea Bozeman on May 7, 1992 in Berkeley, CA. A comedian from the very beginning, Blake’s sense of humor would soon take on a life of its own. Even as a toddler, his ability to impersonate people would have the whole room laughing. At age 4, he moved with his parents and sister Brianna to the DC Metropolitan area, where he would grow up, begin a family of his own, and build his legacy. A brilliant mind, Blake excelled in school, attending some of the area’s best institutions including St Albans School and the school from which he would earn his diploma, Solebury School. Following in his father’s footsteps, he also shined on the basketball court. As he would say, basketball was his first love. Blake’s dream of playing division 1 college basketball came to fruition at Morgan State University from 2011 to 2015. In his senior year, he was named to the Allstate NABC Good Works Team. As a student athlete AND new dad, Blake graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing in 3 years. He then went on to earn his Master of Arts in Journalism, becoming part of the 4 percent of black males with masters degrees.

With his son Braelen in mind, Blake immediately began to excel in the workforce. Within a few years of obtaining his real estate license, he was consistently named one of PGCAR’s top producing agents. A go getter and true entrepreneur, Blake was always juggling multiple projects, investment opportunities, and business ideas. His real passion project, The Pivot Group, guided amateur athletes through the transition from sports to the professional world via mentorship, community fundraising, and career development. This nonprofit, like every endeavor, embodied his mission to push the young black community forward.

However, as hard as he worked, Blake’s priority was always his family. On July 13, 2023, Blake married his soulmate, Tiera Bozeman, in front of their three kids Braelen, Bryson, and Berkeley. Above all else, his greatest joy came from being their dad, and he knew that raising them would be the most important thing he would ever do. He wanted them to live out loud, work hard, have their own mind, stay disciplined, and show up for the people they loved just like him. Blake was a student of the world, always wanting to learn more, see more, experience more. An avid reader, a serial traveler, a social butterfly, Blake knew that learning was multifaceted and never ending. When he wasn’t focused on growing, he was letting loose as the life of the party. Famous for his loud voice, confident dance moves, infectious laugh, and affinity for debate, lowkey and subtle weren’t in his vocabulary.

On September 24, 2023, Blake lost his life, but the legacy he left behind will live on forever. Blake leaves to continue his legacy his loving wife, Tiera, three children Braelen, Bryson, and Berkeley, his mother, TeLethea, his father, Todd, his sister Brianna (Darion), his nephew, Ira, his niece, Nuri, his grandmother, Daisy, three aunts, two uncles, and a host of relatives and friends.
