Our story with Bev began back in 2003 . The year Kevin graduated from Brophy and Jennifer from Xavier. In the beginning, we were just two sets of parents whose high school seniors decided to start dating. Bev and Randy hosted a pre prom get together, which included the parents, of a large group of friends who were attending the prom together. It was our first glimpse of how deeply involved Bev devoted time and effort to her children.
Phone calls, dinners continued with Bev as Kevin and Jennifer continued their college years. The long distance courtship gave us lots to discuss as we connected as friends.
Jennifer and Kevin‘s relationship became serious and Kevin‘s very special marriage proposal was planned carefully with help from Bev and Randy.
From ring shopping to the ambiance for the Proposal to the surprise morning after the Proposal with both sets of parents showing up to toast them, Bev was focused on making this event memorable! So began the melding of families.
Needless to say Bev enjoyed every moment that brought her an opportunity to be with her family. Whether it was planning engagement parties, to wedding plans, bridal showers, baby showers for friends and family, Bev enjoyed the occasions and the efforts that went with them.
She actively participated in the many residential moves of Stephanie as well
As Jennifer and Kevin; always attended Sean’s Halloween parties; escorted Paulina and McKenna “trick or treating” including the scary houses; and attended the plays, sporting events, recitals of all of her grandchildren.
Bev was always volunteering to babysit grandchildren and planning family vacations.
We had many lengthy discussions about our children, grandchildren, politics and the state of the world. She included us in Holidays and Special Occasions. We spoke frequently on the phone on a variety of topics. We both stayed up all night on the Presidential race as it was too close to call and she was so pleased with the outcome.
Above all, Bev valued her beautiful family. She loved and cared deeply for Randy and always tried to make his bucket list items get checked off.
Her children and grandchildren were her world but she always had time for her siblings and their families. Annual trips to the St Louis area to visit with extended family were important to her and were on her annual calendar. Her family was always welcome to visit here where she had the chance to spoil them! She loved family!!
We are all saddened and mourn the death of this great lady who always showed true Christian principles in decision making. Her intelligence, brilliance, social graces, compassion, generosity and kindness will always be remembered.
We already miss you, Bev. We are thankful that you came into our lives and we are all the better for knowing you, dear friend.
