this is the first time i cannot tell you

how the premiere played out

i cannot tell you of our ups and downs

nor of what the audience said.

No more will i have the astounded joy

to hear how you,

so far away

casually point your finger at the fulcrum

of what it was all about this time

the story

the acting

the audience

True, sometimes i feel that you are now free

to partake from some other plane

that you more easily

are actually here

with me

but of course we both

spiritual yet agnostic to the core

know that we do not truly know

if you are here

or just my memory

comfort is your presence still,

whether that of you that lives on within me

or that of you that is now free to roam

again

Audrey was an avid player of Hand and Foot. Through she and her husband Gordon (who was known as the H&F Guru) a tradition of South Tahoe H&F tournaments began and is still thriving today.
