Arlene Wood Padilla, aged 80, passed away on November 8, 2021, peacefully and in the presence of her family.  A daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and steadfast friend to many, she will be greatly missed.  She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Mario; by her children Christopher and Leslie and their spouses; and by her two grandsons.  Born in Chicago and raised in Kansas City, Arlene attended North Kansas City High School and the University of Missouri.  She was a life-long lover of literature, reading, theater, and dance.  After moving to New Jersey in the early 1970s to raise her family, she later worked for many years on the professional staff of the Summit Area YMCA.  She and Mario retired to Williamsburg, VA, where they spent many happy years before relocating to Boulder, CO.  Her kindness, patience, grace and good humor will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
