I was Anna's social studies teacher and advisory in Middle School. I remember their first day of 7th grade--they were mature, composed, with a wry sense of humor. And with these qualities, they made an immediate positive impression. A few years later, I was taking my daughter to the pick-up for Rattlesnake camp, thrilled that, despite wearing masks, camps were happening again. But also a little nervous. And there was Anna, ready to take charge of my 11 year old. They were looking so comfortable in their skin, and I remember knowing that my kid was in great hands. Anna gave so much during their time here and I'm glad that I, and my kid, got a little of that time.
Anna was awesome. They were a great teammate for ultimate in middle school, and an awesome friend at camp. Despite not really interacting with them much in the last few years, it will be sad not to see their smile around school. My condolences to their friends and family.

I was Anna’s algebra teacher in middle school. Their curiosity and determination stood out. Their sense of humor, spirit and kindness were all beyond their years. But— my greatest memory of them was during the annual student vs faculty ultimate frisbee game. Anna made a game- ending catch for the students that was unbelievable. They read the disc perfectly, ran it down, jumped, reached (over a teacher much taller than them) and came down with the disc … and their feet in bounds.
Anna was everything I could want in my own kids. Thoughtful, curious, smart, kind, talented. My heart melts for your family and Anna’s friends. Sending love and support to you all.
There are no words. I am holding you all in my heart. My heart is broken for you. Sending you much love and the arms of all of us who will hold you forever.
