Sarah- I’m so sorry for your loss. I heard of Anna’s passing but had no idea they were your daughter. My heart grieves with you and your family.

I had the pleasure of coaching, and xc skiing with Anna and their mom, Sarah, in the Berkshire Trails Bill Koch Youth Ski League when they were in 5th and 6th grade, and then with the Amherst HS Nordic Ski Team. I could see Anna had the talent, determination, and love of the sport. I also coach her younger brother, Ian, and have gotten to now their wonderful family. I'm heartbroken for their loss, and my thoughts and prayers are with them.

I was one of Anna's, and later Ian's, BKL coaches. Anna was kind and wonderful, so enthusiastic and a joy to coach - up for any ski adventure no matter how cold or how big the uphill. I can picture them flying down Shaw Rd. and fearlessly cornering onto Circuit Trail. I'm so very sorry the world has lost Anna and their incredible spirit far too soon. They will be deeply missed in the ski community. I send my deepest condolences to Sarah, Stephen and Ian and all Anna's family and friends.

I am so so very sorry. I cannot imagine the grief you are experiencing in a beautiful life with its last chapter read too soon. May you find comfort knowing her impact was great in her 16 yrs and in these memories and pictures. Hugs, tears and prayers being shared with you.

Dear Sarah and family,
I know we just recently met at UHS, but being a mom, I cannot even begin to imagine the pain and sense of loss you are going through. Reading all the comments about Anna makes my heart smile as it's obvious they were an amazing human. My thoughts are with you, your family and the community of friends that loved and cared for Anna so much.

I had the pleasure of helping coach Anna in soccer a number of years ago- along with Anna’s mom, Sarah and also Mike Hayes. I still cannot believe we have lost such a warm, kind and bright human. Their determination on the field, bravery and skill in goal, willingness to step into multiple roles, big smile and true kindness to teammates will always stay with me.

My deep condolences to Sarah and the Goff-Burns family. This is heartbreaking news and I am so sorry for your loss. I mostly knew Anna through hearing about them from Sarah--and I saw the light and joy that Anna brought to the world reflected on Sarah's face. Anna's light will be missed. And yet the lives Anna touched, even indirectly, are more luminous.

I'm devastated by this news. Educators aren't supposed to have favorites, but... Anna was one of the best, most memorable kids I ever had in my Hitchcock programs. Their bright, glittering eyes and their bold adventurousness stand out in my mind. I'll never forget them standing atop a sled, and proceeding to "snowboard" down the farm road at Bramble Hill Farm during afterschool, utterly chill and seemingly fearless. All kids in my afterschool programs blindly select a unique "power animal" to embody during our time together, and Anna chose a lynx. It was so fitting that such a beautiful, fierce, stealthy, snow-loving animal would get randomly paired with Anna. They utterly loved being a lynx; I can still see their radiant, proud face when announced that they were a lynx. I am so, so sorry for this loss and I just can't believe it.

I did not know Anna myself, but I wanted to send my prayers to their family and community. May Anna's memory be a blessing and a source of peace to everyone who loved them.
