My name is Gigi and my husband was the recipient of one of Anna’s kidneys and pancreas. We first want to express our deepest condolences to all of you on the passing of Anna. Sarah, Hello, my name is Shawnna and my daughter McKaylea was one of Anna’s kidney recipients. I cannot fathom the feeling you must all have with losing such a bright light in your lives. I want to let you all know that McKaylea is thriving since transplant. We feel as if Anna had a huge role in this. . Please know it would be our honor for you all to watch our daughter grow up. We love Anna so much! They were a part of our family and Julia's friend group since kindergarten. That's when Sarah and I were inspired to start a Girls Scout troop. We had so much fun together. Anna's adventurous and fun-loving spirit will live on in all of us.

It is with a tear in my eye that I tell this story....So, my dear friend Sarah reached out to me this week. Some how she had the strength to personally let me know about the loss of her daughter. We lost touch over the years and reconnected briefly last year. It was like no time had passed. I am going to share the story of the day Steven dropped off Lil Anna to me for a couple of hours. He handed me the bag and the baby and off he went to work. He turned around and said," oh, I forgot the diapers and she hadn't pooped for a couple of days!" Well, then the fun began, I fed her while we watched a little March of the Penguins and then it began. She went for 2 hours strait, I was very creative and made diapers out of facecloths and Saran Wrap. Lil Anna and I bonded that day. My husband came with diapers after school and all was well in the world again.
