I enjoyed my visits with Alfred when he attended Oakwood-I remember a strong man with a full heart and love for his family esp. that wife!! He always knew her! Best memory was our joking about how long he was setting in the sun on our patio--I would try and get him back in the building when it was to hot --his remark was always the same " I am getting a suntan" and I always remarked "Alfred look at your skin can't get no darker!" I remember the Christmas Program when he did the jokes for us and no one will ever forget out annual fundraise and we featured our Vets-and he stood straight as a arrow and saluted( on stage) God bless you Alfred and your loving and understanding family.
I am so sorry to hear of Alfred's passing, He was a real friend, and we enjoyed telling stories to each other about when he and my Dad were serving in the Korean War. He was always trying to get me to go have some fun at the VFW, he even said he would go with me so I could see what it was like. We just never made it. He was such a nice wonderful man, and I really liked him. I will always keep him in my heart.
