Alex's obituary
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Alex "Recto" Pascual, a man of humor, grace, and boundless generosity, who left us on August 1, 2023. Born on May 30, 1954, Alex lived an abundant life filled with laughter, love, and a ceaseless spirit of giving.
Alex was better known for his jovial and affable personality, always being the life of the party. He was easy going and always ready to burst out a song or a joke, leaving everyone in smiles. One of his greatest lessons was his extraordinary kindness and generosity, the impact of which was felt by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
His admirable achievements throughout his life were a testament of his strength and dedication. He was a retired chief from the US navy, and he was very supportive and proud of his service. Further, Alex also held pride in his robust and loving family life. He was married to his beloved wife, Myralin, for 41 years and was blessed with two children, Brian and Ria; two grandchildren, Brie and Mason; a daughter in law, Marie; and a son in law, Kevin. Alex’s family was his greatest pride and joy in life.
One of Alex’s most significant accomplishments was the establishment of the Ria Mae Resort in his hometown in the Philippines. This was his passion project, reflecting his love for his roots and his desire to contribute something meaningful to his hometown. His legacy, the Ria Mae Resort, is a remarkable contribution to his hometown which will continue to thrive and serve its community.
His laughter, his singing, and his musical talents will be sorely missed, but remembered fondly by all.

As Alex passed away in the Philippines, his remains are currently in Myralin’s ancestral home in San Marcelino, Zambales, Philippines until August 6, 2023. From there a viewing will be held for 3 days from August 7 to August 9, 2023 at the Ria Mae Resort in Castillejos, Zambales, Philippines.
A Masonic funeral rights ceremony will take place on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 10:00AM PHT at Ria Mae Resort in Castillejos, Zambales.
Alex will be laid to rest in San Diego, CA next to his mother Aurora Pascual at El Camino Real memorial park. Viewing and funeral mass information will follow.
In remembrance of Alex, we ask that everyone carry forward his lessons of kindness and generosity. His life was a testament to the remarkable things one can achieve through love, laughter, and a dedication to serving others. May his soul rest in peace.
