12 years ago, while we were living across the street from Laura and Robert Ray on Micheltorena St. in Santa Barbara, Robert and I had just returned from LA where we had picked up an enormous hot tub. It was sitting in the trailer in the street when Adam showed up to lend a hand wrestling it into position. That was the first time I had the pleasure to have met Adam, although I had heard a lot of great things about him. Robert had said that Adam might be needing more drivers for his tour company, and Adam enthusiastically supported me in getting licensed and trained and for many years he was a terrific boss, mentor, and friend. Seeing how he could manage all the personalities and responsibilities related to this hospitality business was inspiring. He started the “Star and History Tour” of Montecito that shuttled the cruise ship folks around Montecito and Santa Barbara, which was a lot of fun. With Adam’s “go for it” attitude and kind spirit through the years, it was always a pleasure to be around him. We send our aloha and sincere condolences to his parents, Laura and Robert, and to his wife Megan, his dear children, brothers, sister and to the whole family.

Adam and I got to break away from our busy schedules this winter and spend a couple of amazing days on our local mountain. We timed our trips to coincide with the storms so our days were filled with deep powder and some of the best riding conditions imaginable. Adam flew through the snow hitting almost every jump. An old friend of Adam’s who hadn’t seen him in years told Adam jokingly to “act his age”.  He said this to Adam when he witnessed Adam barely landing a jump off the cornice, a fifteen foot vertical drop into a pocket of deep powder.  Adam was a kid at heart and moments like this on the mountain allowed us to play hard. While on one particular run on the mountain, Adam managed to find cell reception to send a call out to his beloved Meagan. As I rode through the trees I could hear Adam gleefully say “I love you” multiple times to Meagan.

Adam strove to be his best self.  I witnessed him constantly trying to improve how he showed up in the world, how he showed up for his family, his friends, his neighbors.  He wanted to be the best provider for his family and to be emotionally available. He was looking forward to a long life with his beloved Meagan and his beautiful children.

Adam was a great friend to me. I hope that I was able to reflect back to him as much love  as he showed me. I will miss you deeply brother.

Megan's 30th Birthday. Its not often in life that you get the opportunity to third-wheel a dream couple. I will be forever grateful for the amazing times spent with these two lovers.

My heart hurts for the sadness and loss that all of Adam’s family and loved ones are experiencing. But also feel so comforted by the love everyone that knew Adam are expressing as they are writing their memories they had of Adam as he touched each of their lives. I am understanding what a truly special man he was. I am Adam’s aunt and I wish I had been able to be around him more and know him better. However the few times I was able to be in his presence, I could feel his greatness. The last time I spoke to Adam my sister and I were visiting Robert and Laura, he was in his truck hurrying to go pick up Zee from school, he said he wished he could stay and visit and I knew he meant it. That was enough, I knew he cared to make connections with the people he was with. I love you Adam and will look forward to meeting up with you again.
My deepest and heartfelt condolences goes out to Laura, Robert and the rest of the Ray Clan. Adam was a special person and will be truly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him! Sending Love and Healing to Adams wonderful family
I am fortunate to have met Adam, Megan, Zee, and Ravi just this past year. I would see Adam most mornings as he dropped Zee off at school. His kindness and cheer radiated from him each day with his morning greeting. Each time I saw him he would help in many ways. He was constantly fixing my portable sink that never seemed to work. I never even had to ask, he would just jump in and do it. It got to the point where we would wait for Adam to arrive to fix it because none of us ever could! He had that special touch. If he saw me moving anything heavy or doing any kind of physical labor he always took over and helped me with it. I always appreciated how considerate he was. I will miss our morning interactions and seeing his smiling face each day.
