Background
Shortly after Aaron was first diagnosed with glioblastoma (GBM), he took a weekend trip to Wilmington, NC with Stephanie and his cousin, Annie. There, he unknowingly chose a StacheStrong collaboration beer from the shelves of a local bottle shop.
StacheStrong—a nonprofit dedicated to raising funds and awareness for brain cancer research—was founded by brothers GJ and Colin Gerner, following GJ's own GBM diagnosis. Since its founding in 2017, StacheStrong has independently funded 15 research grants and raised almost $2M for brain cancer research.
In September 2021, Aaron, Stephanie, and several of their close friends participated in StacheStrong's virtual 5K. Please consider joining us for future StacheStrong events, and contributing a donation in Aaron's memory through the link below.

The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University was one of the first brain tumor research and clinical programs in the United States. Today, it's renowned for having one of the best adult neuro-oncology programs in the world. This is where Aaron received his treatment.
In October 2021, Aaron, his family, and dozens of his friends—both locally and across the country—came together as "Deal Team 6" to walk and run in the center's annual Angels Among Us 5K and Walk of Hope. To date, Deal Team 6 has raised over $15K for The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center, largely through the generosity of individual donors.
