Equality Utah’s Allies Gala 2023

I remember the first time I ever met the incomparable Ms. Nikki Walker. I came over to write music with Lavish, and she opened the door, greeting me with a smile. I was instantly struck by 1) how much she looks like Lavish, well Jay looks like her and 2) how pretty she was. I was in awe of her. I probably was picking my jaw off the ground when she warmly invited me in. That would start many memories of Ms. Nikki supporting and cheering me on as an artist, being there for me and Jay’s performances, and Jay and I would write songs in her basement and she’d be the first to hear them. I remember once I was with CJ and I rapped a new song for him and he instantly said call Nikki Walker right now! He said she’s gotta hear this now! So I called her and rapped it for her over FaceTime and she loved it. When I release that song it will be dedicated to her. I love Miss Nikki Walker dearly. She was a precious gift to me during my time in Utah. A mama bear, a role model, a cheerleader, and so much more. I cherish every memory I have with her. She was one of the most magical, elegant, accomplished, magnetic, and dynamic women I’ve ever known. It was a pleasure to know Ms. Nikki Walker and have her in my corner. I will count that as one of God’s blessings in my life, that he saw fit for our paths to cross.
