God rest my paternal, half-brother's soul! I hope to meet with you in heaven one day! I am the eldest offspring of Thomas Vincent Edward Fritz, CPA, JD. I was adopted as an infant-out of The Children's Home, in Oakland, PA. My original name was to be Douglas Thomas Fritz. I was born on January 1, 1955. My birth mom is Mary Sylvia Sedlak.
I worked with Dr. Fritz and he was an amazing person. I’m so sad to learn of his passing. He was one of the few people I kept in touch with. I can’t believe he’s gone. Sending his family love and prayers.
I am a blood, half-brother, of Dr. Bill. I communicated with him some years back. I had been adopted, as an infant. It was my sheer fortune, so to speak, to get to know my natural father, Thomas Vincent Edward Fritz. I realize Tom passed away, in a truck accident, back in January 2009. We met several times, while he was in Pittsburgh, PA. Tom was both a CPA, and lawyer.  I also have a half-brother, James Fritz, and a half-sister, Juliann. Judge Blahovec signed off on my paternal father, who's Tom Fritz.  I was raised by both Bill, & Theresa, Neary. I have an adopted sister, Marianne T. Neary-Mcgucken, and an adopted brother, Kevin. W. Neary. I am close to both of them! I have 2 grown sons: Stephen Joseph Neary, and James Robert Neary. I have 2 grandkids...Hudson Neary, and Henley Neary. I have a wonderful mate, Jennifer S. Ewing. My natural mother, Mary S. Sedlak is still living. God rest Doc. Bill's eternal soul! He now is with his Parents, Tom, and Mary, Fritz.  I have humbler background than Doc. Billy. I hold an accounting, nursing, psychology/sociology degrees. I have worked as an accountant, nurse, and both high school, and college, teacher. I am presently semi-retired. I work as an RN trained nurse.  I hold a master's degree, in sociology: gerontology, from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA.  Condolences to all of Doc. Bill's relations, too! I reside in Greensburg, PA.
🙏🙏🙏My Deepest Sympathy to the Fritz Family!🙏🙏🙏He was a Great & Well Liked Doctor!🙏🙏🙏

I met Bill on a W&J-led trip to London in 2017. He and Kristine were among the first people I met on that trip - it took me entirely too long to figure out that they were father-daughter! I was so grateful to Bill that night because as soon as I got to London, my phone told me I had no more storage space (!) and Bill introduced me to the wonders of Cloud Storage! Throughout the week, we all got to know each other better, and he was such a big help and somewhat of a father figure for our little group. As a professor, I really enjoyed hearing him talk about his mentoring work and learning how many students' lives he touched. We also had a great side trip to Greenwich, where I really saw how knowledgeable and fun and funny he was. My condolences to all whose lives Bill touched. May his memories not be forgotten!

I went to High School with Bill and Mary and helped them start dating.  Bill and I stayed good friends for almost 50 years.  I always admired his perseverance and commitment through college and medical school as a young father.  He was so bright and had so much wisdom and always was thinking and asking about others, even after he became sick.  His influence will endure forever.

Prayers and Blessings,

Michael Linden

I was blessed to get to know Dr. and Mrs. Fritz while attending W&J with their daughter Kristine. My favorite memory of Dr. Fritz is when I needed to come home (Somerset County) over winter break to have orthopedic surgery and I asked Dr. Fritz if he could attend knowing his presence would make me feel safe. He not only made sure he was assigned to my surgery, he also treated me like royalty to the point the staff inquired as to who I was. Such a kind soul who clearly adored his family. Rest in peace Dr. Fritz. Prayers Kristine and family.

Sincerely,

EJ

Bill was a loving and caring colleague. When my semi adult kids got their tonsils out, he took care of them and allayed my worried mom fears. We also had many “ spirited” discussions in the doctors dining room concerning politics, given my minority status as a liberal Democrat.

We reconnected on a W and J alumni trip to Austria and Germany. I remember how excited he was to have scored tickets for he and his daughter to go see Elton John in Germany. His love for his family was evident

Rest in peace

Dr. Fritz was a kind and compassionate man. He would drop everything to help you when needed. He was so intelligent and if you asked a question he didn’t know, he would find the answer. I was a surgical technician and worked with him at all three hospitals…Mercy (Good Sam) Lee and Conemaugh. He respected every person. He was great in an emergent situation and actually helped to save my uncles life. My daughter Lauren babysat his children up to the time she went to college. He treated her so well, as did Mary. He has helped me with many things along the way and was quite the blessing to so many. God will reward you in heaven, Dr. Fritz…. My sympathy to all he left behind. Char Torchia

We were fortunate to have lived as neighbors to the Fritz family for many years in Johnstown, PA. There were so many things that Bill & Mary did that made the neighborhood be "home"; daily walks with their poodles around the circle, trekking nightly with backpacks loaded to prepare for trips to Europe, waves to from across the yard, Fritzie washing his MG, Bill helping Mark put on chains and multiple tires and run down the street to get ready for football, taking prom and graduation pictures in front of their beautiful Spring flowering trees. Most memorable - Bill beaming with pride looking at his children and grandchildren...As always - Peace Be With You.

Sherri, Sarah, Billy & Matt

Dr. Hill (Bud) worked for many years at Memorial Hospital.  Bill was a trusted colleague and wonderful caring man.  It was a privilege to work with and to know Bill.
I first met your dad when he worked at Mercy Hsptl 1987 as a patient, from my electric injury from the steel mill. Over the last 30+ yrs, he gave me close to 300 nerve blocks.   We became close friends, shared many stories how the "libatards" are destroying our country.  My first encounter with Mary Fritz, I played Santa Claus for their children.  Doc Fritz forgot to tell Mary I was coming.  He wasn't home when I showed up. Afterwards,  he told Mary "you have no idea who that was & he could've been some nut case".  Years later when I came again as Santa, he always offered me a drink.  I never accepted "cause Santa shouldn't have alcohol on his breath, talking to children".  On my way out, he would slip a bottle in my bag.  Anytime I came in for my nerve blocks & the nurses called for him & warned me he'll be late because everybody loved him & he had to talk to everyone on his way. After he finished my procedure, he'd always show me videos, especially videos of Jeff Dunham.  One more thing, he loved my "Hillary for Prison" t-shirt, so I gifted him one.  When he wore it under his scrubs or smock, people could only see the word "Hillary",  then he would display the entire shirt, upsetting any libatards. I really admired & respected him & all he did for me supporting me for compensation.  He actually came to one of my hearings.  I always loved him as a doctor & especially as a friend.  I'm just really going to miss him immensely  ! !  There are many other stories to share.  If any of the family would like to hear them, feel free to contact me (814) 421-2856 anytime.   He will truly be in my memories forever.
Deepest Sympathies on the loss of your Dad, Grandfather. Bill was instrumental (along with Richard Williams) in the adoption of our daughter. Myself and (the late Dr Gary Thomas) were blessed with their help. He was one of the good guys! 🙏🏻😢
Worked with Dr.Fritz at Bon Secours Hospital-wonderful man-great doctor-so many wonderful memories-deepest sympathies to all-God bless-gone too soon!🙏
I worked with Dr. Fritz at mercy Hospital and Bon Secours, Altoona, PA.  What a wonderful doctor, teacher and most of all a respectful gentle man.  I have missed him and he will always be a great memory for me in my professional and private life
I worked with Dr. Fritz at Bon Secours Altoona, PA.  He was the most kind and caring to his patients and he was very very respectful of the nurse and staff.  He was the BEST.  He always talked about your mom and his girls! Our sympathy to all of you.
