I am so sorry for your loss, and I'm sorry that the world lost such a genuine beacon of light.  I was one of Will's "work moms" at Promontory.  He was my own boys' age, and I enjoyed watching him immerse himself in the world of banking.  He was smart, knew when to ask questions, and willing to take on anything!  And what a great personality! Always a smile and a good laugh.  Will even stayed with my husband and me on a trip to Austin; we felt honored to share such good times with him.

I am heartbroken for you and want you to know that I will always have fond memories of the times we spent working together.  He was a treasured colleague and good friend.

May your loss be softened by all the good memories,

Most sincerely,

Cynthia Shea

Gillian, Jim, and Nini,

I have just learned of your devastating loss. I am holding all of these vivid, vibrant memories of Will. They span from senior year at St. Albans to just six or so months ago. That grin that lit up the room; enthusiasm that pulsed through his whole body; a bold and bright vision for the future. He loved all of you so very much. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I am

An avid fan of Will,

Kim

We just received this overwhelmingly shocking news and our hearts sank in unison.  Although we did not know William personally but the Moorhead family had been a part of our daughter Celine Chao’s years at NCS.  It is with great sorrow and sympathy that we write this note of condolence.  May this community support the Moorhead’s during this most difficult time and keep his memory alive forever.

Oh, my heart breaks to hear this. Jim, Gillian, Nini, and Maude - Debra and I are holding you in our thoughts and joining you in celebrating Will's life.
I remember Will in the lower school at St. Albans. Seeing these photos of him as a joyful adult reminds me of the friendly and outgoing young man I knew. My deepest condolences to the entire Moorhead family and his friends.

We think of all the Moorhead family and have everyone in our deepest thoughts and prayers as we honor William's life every day.  God bless, John, Donna and Henry

I was completely shocked & sadden when I heard the news of William's passing.  He has only been with Reece (Fortiline) for a short time but made a huge impact with us.  I send my sincere condolences to the entire family.  Rest In Eternal Peace Will.

Gillian, Jim, and Nini,

I was so heartbroken to hear the news about Will. He was such a gift to this world. I can't imagine the pain you must be feeling  - my thoughts are with you and those lucky enough to have known Will. I hope you are managing okay during what must be an incredibly difficult time.

Thinking back, there are distinct chapters of my childhood which would be entirely incomplete without bringing to mind Will. Our shared time in NEH spent biking around, playing poker, on hikes, and just being kids. Our summer study trip to Cambridge. And of course the various times our families got together wherever we were. Will was always upbeat, he was playful, he was goofy, he was witty, and he was smart. His voice and laugh are so unmistakable I can hear them now. I am really lucky to have had him as a friend during those formative years.

Something I am so grateful for is being able to have reconnected with Will last summer. We hadn't seen each other in maybe ~15 years, so it was fascinating to catch up and witness the man he had become. Unsurprisingly, he had that same positivity and upbeat demeanor I remembered him for, he just wore it on a very different-looking, professional body builder's  frame! We came to talking about the intervening years since we'd last spoken, and I admired him so much for his openness, his perspective, and his wisdom on it all. As I was going through a difficult moment at the time, his ear and his support also meant a lot to me - a support which I was reminded of when he called on me a few months later just to check in, and a support which I still feel today.

Will was a great human being - it's how I will always remember him. I'm blessed to have shared so many childhood moments with him, and I'm incredibly fortunate to have met the man he became.

My thoughts are with you during this time - I am so, so sorry for your loss,

With love,

Grant

Dear Gillian, Jim, and Nini,

First, I just wanted to express how sad I was to hear about the loss of Will. There’s still an unreality to it that I’m sure you must be feeling, along with the pain, and while I realize that no words can offer true solace, please know that for all of us who knew Will, our thoughts are with you. I hope you’re managing as well as possible.

What comes to mind first when thinking about Will is very simply what a good soul he was. Will was someone who always made your day better whenever you ran into him. For me, Will was always positive and ready for whatever a workout would bring. He was a joy to have on a team. Running can be a daunting, difficult experience, but with Will in the mix, his teammates undoubtedly felt a boost in taking on the sport’s challenges. And he made the day lighter for his coaches as well. Will was certainly driven to perform, but he also brought a perspective that afforded all of us a broader vista; with his thoughtfulness, his sense of humor, and his sense of wonder, Will touched everyone.

I have such fond memories of working with Will. The joy that he brought me and everyone whose lives he was a part of will certainly stay with us. We’ll continue to keep him in our hearts and all of you in our thoughts.

Jim Ehrenhaft
