Hi Moorhead family. I only just found out about Will’s passing and I’m devastated. I’m so sorry for your loss. Will was my mentee as an intern and full time employee at Microsoft. He was an amazing person with a fantastic attitude who cared about others deeply. He had an amazing impact on others and he will be missed.

I just learned about this. Will was one of my favorite people we were freshman friends and still caught up every year. He set up a calendar reminder for the call and we'd talk for an hour at least. One of the things I admired about him most was how beautifully he talked about his wonderful family. I am so so sorry and miss him already.

I’m so sorry to hear this. I taught Will at STA and I have all positive memories of my interactions with him. I hope he felt similarly. He was an amazing kid and will surely be missed. My deep condolences to his family and loved ones!

Will was one of my favorite underclassmen during our time at St. Albans. We could always count on him to crack a joke or play a round of Mafia on the cross country bus with us, and his upbeat attitude made all the time we spent together fun and memorable. Sending heartfelt condolences to the Moorhead family from his friends in the Class of 2008, who all remember Will very fondly. He will be sorely missed.

We're so sorry about Will.  He was an important friend to Kian.  It was wonderful to see him at Kian's wedding a couple of years ago and to be regaled with some of his  great stories!  We're loving reading these comments by his many friends and thinking of all his family.

Gillian, Jim, Nini & Ladd, and Maude—We are shocked and saddened to learn of Will’s passing, and are so very sorry for your loss. Our hearts go out to you.

Will was as a very warm person: when he visited his parents and found me working in the yard next door, he stopped by with a smile, a chat and even a hug. We also remember grade-school Will appearing on local TV standing in the giant crater next to towering roots after a big storm took down the trees on his front lawn…and that same young Will who read 38 books in a month.

We are so sad to hear about Will, and extend our deepest sympathies to you. I’m especially grateful now to have had the chance for a visit with Will around the start of the year, and was impressed with his outlook on life and his hopes for the path ahead… a wonderful young man who always sported a twinkle in his eye. He will forever remain Will the Thrill to us… Jim, Ann Marie, and Matt

I am so sorry to hear of Will's passing. While I never had the chance to meet him, I can feel his zest for life in all of the photos shared on this page. My deepest condolences to Nini and Ladd and the Moorhead family. I imagine Erica and Will are having a dance party in heaven together <3

I am so sorry for your loss.  I was heartbroken reading about William. I have been looking at my old photoes from 1996 when I stayed with you for a year in Rockville. So many good memories came back to me after so many years. William was five when I came to your house. He was so full of life and he always made me laugh. We spent hours playing with his action figures in the play room. William loved playing. He had a great imagenation. I will always carry my memories of the little William in my heart.  I am so greatful for spending a year with you, William an Nini. My thoughts are with you and I pray that you will find strengh.

Will was the happy face at the gym I worked at. He was always smiling and always gave a warm greeting. I was SO HAPPY to reunite a few years ago. He was continuously adventurous and open hearted towards everyone. I loved spending July 4 with him and all our friends last summer. I met Gillian this past year while working at a health boutique and was SO HAPPY to learn she was  Wills mother, as they both share the high energy and enthusiasm for life and athletics. Will will be missed by so many. His memory will live on :)

First met Will at Kenyon College and remained in touch 10+ years later. One of the best friends a guy could ask for.

Will was a true friend in the deepest sense of the word. We first met in the summer of 2008 at the St. Albans School of Public Service, and it was apparent from day one that there was something special about him. Even then, Will had a gift for bringing people together and forming human connections. He was intelligent, witty, charismatic, and full of energy in a way few others were.

We remained great friends after the program, and although life – college, careers, family– took us both all over the country, Will always made an extra effort to stay connected. Whether it had been months or even years since we had last seen each other in person, Will was the type of person who could make you feel like it had only been a few days. He made this seem effortless, but in truth he put more effort and energy into building meaningful relationships with those around him than anyone I know.

It is evident from the outpouring of love on his memorial page that my experience was not unique- Will had an incredible way of establishing and maintaining community wherever he went. I am honored to have had the opportunity to call Will my friend.

To Gillian, Jim, and Nini – thank you for raising the man that you did and for allowing us all to share in that gift with you.
