Ginny and I have been friends since high school. I have had more Joy and fun with Ginny over all these years. I cannot imagine being in this world without her. I believe everyone that knew her feels the same way. Ginny was so funny and full of love, laughter and joy. She loved people and gave so much in her volunteering to help and bless so many. She loved Rick and Alison!! The loves of her life!

Rick and Alison l pray in the days and months ahead that Jesus will bring you peace knowing she is with Him and this time apart is temporary.

Love you,

Cate Barthelemy

Rick and Alison: Words cannot ease the pain and sorrow you are feeling.  However you have so many wonderful memories of Ginny, she was one of a kind.  She will be smiling and laughing as we celebrate her life this weekend.
Ginny and I were 1st cousins and we affectionately called each other "Cuz" . We spend our childhood visiting each other in either Winston Salem (her home) or mine (Reidsville).  She was the city cousin and I was the country cousin. We loved playing in her basement, going downtown for ice cream, going to summer play time at her elementary school, skating on side walks, and later cruising the streets in her Chevy.  My Aunt Gee Gee was a nurse and worked nights; therefore we had to take a nap in the afternoon and giggled our way through those naps.  While in Reidsville we roamed the fields singing at the top of our lungs, throwing rocks at my brother and his friends while they paddled on a raft in the middle of the pond.  She and I were in a small boat on this same pond and for some reason I threw a cup of water in her face.  To our horror, her new prescription sunglasses went flying.  I called a friend to come scuba dive to try and retrieve them. No such luck in a mud bottom pond.  We both caught the wrath of Aunt Gee Gee, I suspect she had the worse end of the "stick". We both went to East Carolina University and did have some fun at nearby Atlantic Beach! We stayed in touch as the years passed and saw each other from time to time. I loved hearing about her design of their new home in Ocean Pines and I braved a solo trip to visit in February 2019.  In September 2022 we were planning a family reunion and she called me with her diagnosis.  Of course she could not make the trip to NC and her brother and sister needed to go to Maryland.  I am so happy I got to visit her several times during her journey and saw the same happy cousin no matter how bad she felt.  I miss her every day and know we will have some more great times together some day.

Ginny will be missed by so many. She was absolutely the best boss , and I loved her dearly. She had a smile that would light up a room and I will always remember  her kindness and amazing humor.

My heart felt condolences to your family.

Ann

Allison you are a wonderful daughter and you took such good care of your mom. I’m so sorry that you had to lose her. Ginny was so lucky to have such a loving and caring daughter to care for her. But then again you learned from the most loving and caring friend I have had the pleasure to know, Ginny. I will never forget her endless kindness to everyone she encountered wether it was bringing food to a sick friend or volunteering to help at the cancer center or hospice. She was also a valued member and volunteer with the Marine Corp League. John and I will miss the many fun nights we had playing rummikub even though she always won. We will forever miss her laughter, dry humor and big heart.

I will miss Ginny so much. She was such an amazing  friend and colleague. I learned so much from her generosity and kindness. Her sense of humor was always timely and her laughter was contagious. Allison and Rick,  I pray that time will heal your broken hearts and you will find peace in the days ahead.
I will remember her as a friend and someone I always enjoyed being with.  She had a wonderful personality with a beautiful smile.  My thoughts and prayers are with Rick and Alison.
