Thomas's obituary
Thomas John Kovack, 71, of Frederick, MD, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday January 26, 2026.
Tom was born on March 21, 1954 in Hammond, IN. The son of Kenneth and Valerie (Gandy) Kovack. He was the loving father of Bobbi Brown (Zachary) and Tommy Kovack and he was at his happiest when he was spending time with his grand children Logan, Olivia and Addily. He was the brother of Kathleen (Jerome) Berwanger, Kenneth F. Kovack, David P. Kovack (Beverly), and Jerome E. Kovack (Kimberly) and uncle to many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Tom graduated from Peary High School in 1972 where he starred in soccer and was a team MVP in his senior year.
Tom’s career in warehouse management was spent mainly with Whole Foods where he ran the distribution center. He retired from a similar position in 2023 and worked for the City of Frederick until March of 2025 with plans to retire in Little River, SC with his brother, Ken. Tom enjoyed family beach trips traveling to Sunset Beach, NC and staying at his timeshare in Florida with family and friends.
Tom was a great friend to all who knew him. He had an infectious laugh and was an avid jokester. He loved the Grateful Dead and would always know when a Three Stooges marathon would be on TV. His storytelling at the Owls Club in Frederick will be missed by all.
Tom will be greatly missed and always loved.
A celebration of life will be planned for spring around his birthday. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Tom's living legacy, his grandchildren, who he loved fiercly.
"Fare you well, fare you well I love you more than words can tell Listen to the river sing sweet songs To rock my soul"
