Terry and I kind of grew up together – Laurna looked after us while my mum was at work. As teens, we got into a few tight spots. One of the last times we connected on Facebook I asked him if he remembered the time when, without drivers' licenses, we took my dad's car, went for a joyride, and got busted by Granny Deacon who saw us on the street and promptly spilled the beans to everyone. Terry's retort: "Whoa, hold on. I remember it as YOU borrowed, and I was just an innocent passenger."
That's what I'll miss most about him – his bone-dry, ironic, acid Canadian humor. A big loss to all of us and the world in general. He was true blue, one of the kindest, wisest, centered, funniest men I ever knew.
Here's one for the scrap book. Terry as usual is in the middle sucking up all the oxygen.
