Susan's obituary

In Loving Memory of Susan Rae Dodge

March 19, 1953 – March 7, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Susan Rae Dodge, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who passed away peacefully at home in Waverly, MN, surrounded by family.

Susan was born in Stanley, Wisconsin, to Raymond and Gladys Kobylarczyk. She grew up on the family farm in Thorp, WI, alongside her four siblings: Ron, Roger, Jerry, and Kay. She graduated from Thorp High School and earned degrees from UW-Stout, UW-Eau Claire, and a Master’s from St. Mary’s University.

Susan dedicated her life to family and education. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put others first. She had a passion for teaching, both in the classroom and beyond. Whether sharing family history, explaining how glaciers shaped the land, or ensuring we knew how to pronounce Polish names properly, she never stopped teaching and always made learning fun.

She was the keeper of family traditions and ensured stories and memories were passed down. Every item in her home had meaning, and she took pride in sharing those connections.

Susan is survived by her husband, Scott, children Rochelle (Ben) Borrell, Ryan, and Richard (Jasmine) Dodge, and grandchildren Isabella, Emelia, Braxton, Alexandra, and Lucas. She also leaves behind her siblings and many extended family members and friends.

In loving memory of Sue and her passion for the outdoors and gardening, we will be creating a memorial garden. If you would like to participate, in lieu of floral arrangements, please consider sending or donating toward a plant or tree to be placed lovingly in her honor.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Church of St. Mary in Waverly, Minnesota. A gathering of family and friends will be held prior from 9-10:45. Private family inurnment at a later date in Bay City, Wisconsin. A luncheon will be held following the Mass.
