With our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss, our hearts go out to you during this difficult time.

All our love,

Stanley was my cousin. I am Gene Challgren. My dad(Clair) was a brother to Stan’s dad(Axel). I am a Navy veteran. While in the reserve, I was in Hawaii when Stan was at Kaneohe, Hawaii. I called  him from Barbers Point to say hello. He answered back and asked if I had the weekend off. I said sure. He said put on your dungarees and go down to the terminal. I went down there and soon a helicopter landed. Two Marines came into the terminal and asked me if was Mr. Challgren. I said yes. They said follow us. We went to the helicopter and I climbed in. I had never been in a helicopter. I flew in P2Vs in regular Navy at Barbers Point, Hawaii. We took off and flew along the coast from Barbers and flew to Pearl Harbor and went up the harbor heading north to Kaneohe. We landed at Kaneohe and Stan was there to meet us. I had a great time that weekend with Sarah and the boys Thor and Eric. We went sailing and had good eats and Sunday night they took me back to Barbers Point. I will always cherish the thought of my weekend with them. My thoughts are with you boys.
