I know sonja from past six months as a caregiver and feel very privileged to work with sonja and her amazing kind hearted daughter who took care of her mom incredibly. Sonja was very kind hearted person and always welcome me with smiling face when i used to visit her. She loved her cats . I remember sonja when i used to leave she always greeted me with her words god bless you and your family. I will always miss you sonja. You really touched my soul with your loving and kind behaviour.

Oma’s paintings. Oma loves to paint with watercolor of flowers/plants, and over the years we have been gifted some of her artwork which we display on what we call, “the Oma wall”

My clearest memories of Sonja (Oma) are all in the kitchen.  My own German heritage hadn't provided much training, but Sonja made sure I had at least a chance to master her apfelkuchen, plum cake, and spaetzle.  Always kind, always quiet, and always such a beautiful, welcoming presence.Heartfelt condolences to all of the family, and especially to the best outlaw sister ever.  <3
When I first met Sonja and Fritz, they had just moved to Richmond. Fritz was a powerful soul. He commanded respect. Quietly and undemanding. Sonja... Oma. Was at that time quiet and listening, always paying attention. Fritz and I had a good trust. He was a man who lived and breathed to protect. He had a deep sense of loss. We connected. After he passed, Sonja kept with me. We too developed an understanding and trust. We shared many laughs, tears and stories. I loved them both although only for a short time. I am sorry for your loss ; Kathrin, Chris and Isobel, and the family and friends I didn't get to meet. I am grateful I was able to meet and be the friend to such powerful souls. May they find peace together. I will cherish my memories, momentos, and their strength always.
