Sherri's obituary

LEBANON, Indiana – Sherri Lynn Hayward passed away on Friday, August 22nd at her cottage home adjacent to her beloved daughter Kirstie, son-in-law Brock, and her grandchildren Raef and Vivienne.

Sherri was born in Battle Creek, Michigan to Joan and Terry Gottschalk in 1964. After graduation from East Jackson High School, Sherri enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Sherri served honorably for 4 years and made rank of Sergeant with several accommodations of which she was very proud.

After her time of service, Sherri went on to work at MACSTEEL in Jackson Michigan as a temporary receptionist. After 25 years of dedicated employment to them, she retired from the position of IT Operations Support Manager.

In her retirement, Sherri enjoyed her yard, her gardens, and a little casino action now and again. Sherri’s favorite retirement pastime however was being a Nana and supporting her family in their daily lives. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and unmatched work ethic.

Sherri was preceded in death by her parents Joan and Terry Gottschalk. She is survived by her loving daughter Kirstie Hileman, son-in-law Brock, their children Raef, Vivienne, and sisters Lauri Nall and Teresa Lindahl.

A memorial celebration luncheon of Sherri’s life will be held at the home of Lauri & Brad Nall located at 5080 Seymour Rd, Jackson MI 49201 on Sunday, September 21st from 1-4pm.

In lieu of flowers we are graciously accepting contributions for a memorial tree and flowers to be planted near Sherri’s cottage home.
