Ruby Ann's obituary
Ruby Ann Guthrie Heckford, 59, of West Monroe, passed suddenly from this life and entered her eternal home in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 17, 2025 in the comfort of her home.
Ruby was born January 24, 1966 to Roy L. Guthrie and Barbara J Hawkins in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away on November 17, 2025 in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Ruby was the best example of how we should love like Jesus, because Ruby loved everyone. She was so very loved by so many people during her time here on this Earth.
She had a contagious smile that could light up a room. Ruby’s love for her immediate family was immeasurable. The only thing she cherished more than her family, was her relationship with her Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was everything to her and she wasn’t afraid of sharing God’s word with anyone.
Ruby would spend time everyday in her room reading her bible. She also loved listening to Christian and country music, shopping at the thrift store, and sitting on the porch watching the rain. Overall, her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family and friends, especially playing with her ”adopted” grandbaby, Jayceon.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, Roy L Guthrie &, Barbara J Bass; brother, Willie Guthrie “Big Willie”; nephews, Phillip Bass and Wayne Bass, and great-nephew, Michael Carpenter.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, April Rabun (Robby) of Colorado and David Clark Jr. of West Monroe; sisters, Barbara Lee (Jerald) of West Monroe and Winnie Bass (Wayne) of South Carolina; Grandchildren, Terry and Terralynn Rabun of Colorado; Neices, Ruby Combs (Randy) (SC), Brandy Gunter (Patrick) (SC), Christina Guthrie (LA), and Heather Sprague (David) (LA); Nephews, Louis Bass (SC), Chris Guthrie (Amy) (SC), and Jerald “JR” Lee (Hannah) (LA); as well as a host of great nieces, great nephews, bonus family, and many friends.
