Obituary

Today we gather to celebrate the life of Ronald “Ron” Poe — a man of deep faith, great heart, steady hands, adventurous spirit, and enduring love for his family.

Ron was born at home in Richmond, Indiana, on July 25, 1939, to Melva Poe and Harold Poe. From an early age, it was clear he was gifted with both talent and drive. He graduated high school in 1957, and during those early years he was …

Personal note from Sarah

Heaven gained a battle weary warrior when Ronald David Poe walked to be with Jesus. Our family is saddened that his physical body isn’t with us, and we throw our hands up in praise that he went to be with the lord and is no longer suffering. This man that has been the only “daddy” that I’ve ever known, was the best dad I could have asked to step into our lives when he married my mom when Stacey and I were very young. Adding us to his family, the only thing we’ve ever known. He adopted us, and treated us as his own. This man loved his family, loved his grandchildren, loved his friends, his church, love God and just so much more.
This man always said he didn’t want to linger, he got his wish. This was so unexpected and just unreal. He fought the good fight and lived with Parkinson’s for just about 14 years, that isn’t what took him- It was a cascade of other health Issues. That up until the last day he was planning his recovery-when he would be traveling again, standing on his own two feet unassisted, riding his stationary bike, seeing his family. Missing his comments when I call "is this daughter #4?" and his unending inquiries about my relationship status. LOL. Love you to the moon and back. Your gorgeous wife of 57 years will be well cared for-the grandson's that made you do proud will be sure to keep tabs on her :)
