In Memory of Ron King, 1957 - 2023 

After a wonderful night of celebrations with family and friends, Ron King, age 65, passed away on the morning of March 25, 2023 in his home in Scarborough, Ontario. In classic Ron style, it was an evening filled with good food, many drinks, and surrounded by loved ones. He was truly in his element, living life the way he loved to live it. 

Born on September 13, 1957, Ron was always known for his quick wit (ahem, sarcasm), outgoing nature, and his love for giving to others. You could never stop by to see him without having a drink, some food, or even leaving with a pair of new shoes. And if you were lucky enough to have a special Ron Martini, you know the drinks were strong.

Ron had an extremely successful career as a Senior Executive in the shoe industry, where he dedicated many years of his life helping to grow and shape the industry in Canada. From Bata and Town Shoes to Ecco and Cougar, he was well-respected by his colleagues, and made many lifelong friends through his work. Outside of his career, Ron loved to sail, taking family and friends out on the water whenever he had the chance, and his love for cooking and entertaining knew no bounds. It was a common sight to see Ron hosting backyard get-togethers, playing the piano for guests, jumping around to music that was far too loud, or serving up drinks and food around the kitchen island at the family home.  

Ron is survived by his loving wife Debra, daughters Kristen and Cassandra, step-mother Doreen, brothers Randy and Chris and their families, who will carry on the legacy of his wit, generosity, and infectious spirit. Through them and his many friendships, his memory will live on.
