My cousin Robert tolerated me kindly and lovingly as his younger brother growing up. He was always very supportive of our son William Robert Leary, especially with his specialized computer skills. I never heard Robert say an unkind word about anyone (except the unknown person who stole his boat). He was always an easy phone call away for a little advice or just a chat. I admire him greatly for how lovingly he took care of his Dad in old age. Thank you, Robert, for your unwavering support for Marge, William and me. Love, Edward.
When Robert’s sister Janet, my mother, was dying of cancer in 2003, Robert made a big effort to come see her. She was just hanging on by the time he arrived, and hadn’t spoken in over a day. But when Robert arrived, she was aware of him and called out, “I’m still alive!” He was able to say goodbye to her. Then he was deeply helpful as we rapidly arranged her memorial service so that he could attend. I will always remember that.

William Robert Leary, a second cousin, remembers Bob for a number of things especially his kindness & generosity.  One of his first computer games was “Lemmings “ that Bob gave him.  Another was his first computer, and another was a $20 gold piece.  He was unable to attend since he he is an 8th grade science teacher in Frderal Way , Wa.  He also remembers a science kit that Bob gave him.  He remembered that it had magnets that he learned to make a Levatator Device.

My condolences to Robert's family. I first met Robert with my soon  to be husband John. I have known Bob for over60 years. So sorry that I can't  make it. My family has a lot of stories we could tell. Please accept our condolences. Bonnie Maher
Bob was a volunteer committee member for Boy Scout Troop 296 sponsored by St. Patrick’s RC Church for more than 25 years spanning the 70s, 80s and 90s. I had the pleasure of being a volunteer leader with him. Bob was a storehouse of knowledge that he freely shared. He devoted countless hours to the success of the program. He was generous with his time and talents for the benefit of the boys in the troop. One example: In the very early 80s, Bob purchased and donated to the troop one of the first professional resuscitation mannequins. The boys quickly nicknamed the dummy “Manny”. Bob’s generosity allowed us to train hundreds of boys how to properly perform cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Bob was an avid camper, both winter and summer. He was an accomplished outdoorsman. Bob was an excellent colleague and I was privileged to call him my friend.
I miss Bob. I visited him last July at his residence and we had a wonderful conversation. I am brokenhearted knowing that Bob is gone.
