As I think of the many parts of my dad's personality, his humor stands out as one of my favorites. Mom has it too- and both Robert and I inherited that humor that helps lighten life. I think we all love a little absurdity. One thing I always thought was so funny was when he described someone who had just married a woman he met online. Dad called her a "Sears Catalog" wife. He knew he was being funny (I think!).
Dad gives a speech, mom sits in the back in red and white checkers- a 4th of July celebration where I think he was talking about the restoration of the hotel and other historic buildings he had acquired and brought back to life.

I'm guessing on the actual year- but this was a Christmas in San Antonio at Moppy and Jack's (Sidney Margaret- aka: Moppy). The original Potter siblings.

Dad looks through work I had exhibited in (what is now) MixHaus Gallery- doing his best to understand it! His greatest gift to me was his attempt to understand my work and support me, even though it was usually photos of my cats that got the most attention!
I have no idea where they were (Vermont?) or when (I guessed), or what exactly is going on, all I know is Mom took this and I wonder how much it made them laugh!
