Background
My father has always been a very active, self-sufficient man even after my mom passed in 2012. He did yard work, snow plowing and some handy home jobs even in his 80's . However, he started feeling tired easily which is not his character and often would go to the hospital for pneumonia. In 2022, he was diagnosed with MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome). It was my first time hearing about MDS and learned that it is often unrecognized and under-diagnosed. My father likewise did not have a full grasp of the impact of the disease and the need for constant assistance.
