Bill's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond "Bill" Daniels, who left us on May 17, 2023 with his daughters by his side. Born on March 1, 1938, in Liverpool, England, and was predeceased by his wife of 27 years, Miriam in 1991. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Christine Daniels, daughters, Michelle Gardiner (David) and Nicole Daniels, as well as his three beloved grandsons, Stephan Campbell, Jaiden Anderson and Evan Anderson.
Bill was a proud veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he contributed to the development of the base at Cold Lake, Alberta during his service. Never afraid to take on new adventures he led an interesting life which included living in three different countries and owning an antique shop, a bar, importing cars and selling real-estate. Despite this busy existence, he even managed to achieve his dream of becoming a pilot.
Along the way he always found time for his family and friends where he could be easily prompted to share a story or two and provide a few laughs with the colorful details he included. Bill will live on through his grandsons who have inherited this wit and sense of humor in addition to his helpful and loyal nature. He was so proud of the men they’ve become and was honoured to have been able to watch them grow.
Bill will be cherished and missed by all who knew him and the family wishes to thank all the nurses and staff that were so kind and supportive of him over the last 8 years and especially in these last few weeks.
An open house celebration of Bill's life will be held on May 21, 2023, starting at 3:00 PM at 182 Cornerstone Ave in Calgary. Friends and family are invited to attend and share stories of Bill's memorable life.
