Sarah and I were deeply saddened to learn the passing of Peter.   Over the years in Detroit Chinese Bible Church, we saw Peter around always with a big smile.  We were so impressed seeing him on the stage to lead CBC choir.  Peter will always be in our memories.

May the comfort from our Lord be rest upon Leanne and the family.

Sarah and Chad ZHANG

My prayers and thoughts with you all.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Peter but comforted that we will see him again in heaven.  Peter was always friendly with a smile on his face, initiating conversation with newcomers to the church.  We missed the Bible study time with Peter and Leanne on Friday nights at CBC, treasure our friendship with Peter and enjoyed very much our visit with him and Leanne in Wisconsin.  Peter will always be in our memories.

May the comfort, peace and strength of our Lord rest upon Leanne and the family.

Dear Leanne and Li family: I'm so sorry for the loss of Peter. He is missed by many people. I'll always remember his singing in the church: different and harmonious. He is very talented and active man (in spite of his inconvenient body movement lately). Too bad that we haven’t had played Ping Pong together (he had suggested few times). Now you can sit and sing with our Heavenly Father, how pleased HE will be! Rest in peace Peter!

A time to be born, and a time to die. Life is in the Lord’s hand.

Now Peter has finished his journey on earth and has entered into his heavenly abode, leaving a beautiful footprint for us. Peter, we’ll miss you now but will see you again in Heaven.

Dear Leanne & family,

I was deeply saddened to learn of Peter’s passing. Please accept our heartfelt condolences. Peter’s love for God had always shown through in his kindness and thoughtfulness, touching everyone around him-including us for 40 some years.

In this time of sorrows, I pray that same love from the Lord surrounds you now more than ever. May He be your refuge and the strength, and ever present help in trouble, and May His comfort reach the deepest places of your hearts.

Holding you close in our prayer and love!

Arthur and Lili

Somewhere from 2003 to 2008, I remember him making a miniature bicycle with only a metal cord (or a metallic thread) and pliers/long nose. They were at least 3-4 inches long. He taught me how while making them. I asked him how long he took to make them. He then made 3 more bicycles early in the morning before his leave from his visit in the Philippines. He told me “I made them 30 minutes each.” “You can do them too.” He smiled.

I keep picturing Peter now resting peacefully in the loving arms of Jesus, wearing that same joyful smile that always made people feel at ease. He will be deeply missed — his laughter, his presence, and the simple moments that now feel especially precious.

Though our hearts ache, there is also a quiet hope that this is not goodbye forever. One day, in God’s time, we will see him again, and there will be joy instead of sorrow.

Until then, his gentle, childlike sincerity will remain with us. Peter, thank you for the beautiful memories you leave with us.

Leanne, you are held in my heart and prayers during this time.

Your friend —Julia Y.L.

We are so sorry to hear about Peter's passing, but are grateful and confident that he is now with the Lord in eternal joy and peace!  We will miss him dearly, he was such a great, faithful brother in the Lord and always full of life and energy.  We are praying for you all as you go through this season of loss, may the Lord give you His special grace, comfort, peace, strength, and joy in the midst of your sorrow.
We will always remember Peter’s big, friendly smile that lit up every room and warmed our hearts whenever we were with him. May God’s love and peace surround and sustain Leanne and the family.
Peter's big smile and positive attitudes will remain in our memories for a long time.  You'll be missed, as you are embraced by the Lord.  My condolence and prayers are with Peter's family in this difficult and challenging time.
Noel and Philip are deeply saddened by the passing of Peter. He was a man of faith and kindness, and his life reflected Christ’s love. Though we grieve, we also rejoice in the hope of eternal life through Jesus. May God comfort sister Leanne and your family and give you strength.
Annie & I are so sorry to hear about the passing of our lovely brother Peter and our prayers will be with the Li family🙏🙏🙏. Peter was our longtime faithful choir director at CBC. We shared a lot of fond memories in various ministries at CBC with the Li family, especially we brought home our first CCUC sport tournament volleyball championship back in the 90s. May the heavenly peace from our God be with the Li family especially during this very difficult time😇😇😇. With full confidence by faith, we will see him again in heaven and worshiping our Lord together forever!!!

Peter brought such happiness and positivity wherever he went.

It’s sad to realize that when we said goodbye so lightly, thinking there would be plenty of opportunities to meet again, it might have been the last time we saw each other on earth. When Peter didn’t come back for the CBC 70th anniversary, I still hoped we’d have more chances to reconnect. It’s so sorrowful to know those chances are gone.

May he rest in peace! May God comfort Leanne and the family during this difficult time.

Peter was an essential part of our CBC community when I was growing up. He taught me and many others volleyball and was always quick with kindness and a smile (even if I was cheating). I loved his presence at church and felt like he was one of my many uncles who helped me grow through my teenage years. He was also a wonderful father and husband to 3 great kids and an equally loving aunty Leanne.  I am saddened by his passing and send love from our family in Boston to the Li family.
