Paula's obituary
Paula Christine Greene (née Hamm), age 74 died on November 8, 2025 in Denver, Colorado. She was born on April 18, 1951 in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, the daughter of Philip and Rosemary Hamm. Paula grew up in El Dorado, Kansas, later living in San Pedro, California, ultimately making her home in Denver. Paula was the devoted mother of Jessica (Nik) Zender and Kristen (Terry) Seidel, and cherished grandmother to Myko, Hayden, and Calvin. She is also survived by her siblings Rose Field, Charles Hamm, Stephanie Ohmstede, David Hamm, Larry Hamm, Kate Higgins, and Sheila Thomas, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her deeply.
For more than 30 years, Paula served as a school psychologist where she genuinely cared for the students she worked with, advocating fiercely for their individual emotional and educational needs. Her dedication left a lasting impact on countless young people and colleagues. Since her retirement in 2017 she enjoyed spending time with her beloved neighborhood group, The Grands. Paula loved old movies, had a sweet bond with her dog Missy, and was rarely without a good book nearby. Throughout her life, she loved to dance, loved Christmas and theme parks, and traveled both nationally and internationally. She appreciated a wide spectrum of music, from Patsy Cline to Asleep at the Wheel, to Billie Holiday. She introduced her daughters to new foods and music and experiences from a young age, always fostering a curiosity about the world. She loved hot tea in the morning and iced tea in the afternoon.
Those who knew Paula will remember her sharp sense of humor, her fierce independence, and the strength of her convictions. She was a good listener and she made people feel seen for who they were. She was devoted to her daughters and grandchildren, and to her family at large. Like her mother before her, she carried a streak of good-natured obstinance, which endeared her to those who understood her heart.
A memorial service to celebrate Paula’s life will be held on December 5 at 1:00 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Denver. [Reception following at Postino at 830 Colorado Blvd].

Paula lived with a spirit of resilience, humor, and curiosity, and would want those who survive her to do the same.
