I posted a photo about this special evening with Aunt Pat, Uncle Jerry, Maggie and Brian on Nov. 28, 2013. We did an open mic night at Melt! Cafe in North Beach. My husband Todd and stepson Dante played the liuto cantabile and mandolin, Maggie played the guitar and sang and Brian played the piano. I remember the dreamy look on Aunt Pat's face as she took it all in. She was never happier than being with family and connecting people. I found this Facebook post from that evening where she commented on the wonderful evening of music. That weekend we also went to a special Thanksgiving in the East Bay with Jerry's family. It was a magical weekend I will never forget.

Jerry, Margaret, Phenry, Brian and Maggie. Thinking of you during this difficult time and sending our deepest condolences. We can only imagine that losing someone to Alzheimer’s is an especially profound loss—one that comes with so many emotions and memories. Please know that her love, her kindness, and the moments she shared with you will always remain. May you find comfort in the legacy she leaves behind and in the love that surrounds you. Wishing you peace and healing in the days ahead.

Much much love from your ‘Italian family’ Daniela and Alice, a long lasting and loving friendship that started as pen pals among young girls over seas, that was kept alive trough the years, witnesses of each other’s lives, families, from letters to emails and more visits, and always keeping updated on each other’s moves, news, kids’ studies and passions. Some epic stories and adventures have became classics anecdotes in our family’s records, thanks to Pat’s unforgettable subtle and gentle humor, and writing skills. What a pleasure to receive and read the updates along the years!
We will keep your memory alive dear Pat, thank you for your kindness.
Warm hug to the family, may the love keep you together in this moment of transition.
With much love,
Daniela and Alice

God blessed me when I met Pat at college and she became my "little sister" in Kappa Delta. She was my friend and confidant for 61 years and words cannot express much I miss her.
I am so happy that she was able to share her life with Jerry and their three children.
I know she is watching over all of us.
