Kim's obituary
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Nam "Kim" Shin on November 7, 2025, born on January 11, 1945. Better known as Kim, her light in this world will be greatly missed. She was a warm, friendly, and good-hearted individual who always had a smile to share and kind words to offer.
Kim leaves behind her husband, Kang Shin, her sons Daniel and Stephen Shin, her grandson, Roland Shin, her brothers Nam Il and Nam Hoon, and her sister Nam Hwa. Her affection extended beyond her family to her pet dog, Ollie, who will profoundly miss her tender love and care. Kim loved gardening, traveling and begrudgingly grew to love dogs.
Kim emigrated by herself to the United States in her late 20s as she looked to earn enough to take care of her family back home in Korea. Her journey symbolized unwavering determination, strength and a care of loved ones. Her resilience and perseverance became the bedrock of her life, inspiring those fortunate to know her.
The best advice Kim imparted to us all was, "Never quit," a phrase she lived by throughout her remarkable life even as she fought cancer. Her legacy will be remembered as one of determination, as she always looked for ways to improve herself while sharing her profound love. Her consistent dedication and affection were her gift to those around her, nourishing and encouraging dreams, both big and small.
A celebration of Kim's life will be held on December 5, 2025, at 10 AM at Garden Park Cemetery. We invite all those whose lives were touched by Kim's kindness and generosity to join us in honoring her memory.
In her passing, we are reminded of the transience of life, but also of the everlasting impact a single, loving soul can have on the world. Kim's spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us all, her lessons and love ingrained deeply in our hearts. She will be forever missed yet remembered with fondness and love and she will live on in God's glory.
