Other Ways to Remember Mindy:

Cairns

Cairns is a soundwalk through Green-Wood Cemetery. My mother and I did this last year before she was sick. It’s because of this walk that we made it her final resting place. Experience the walk and then pay your respects to my mother [Tranquility Garden: #E211-4C]

Badass Animal Rescue
Badass Animal Rescue was very important to my mother. If you can, please donate so they can continue saving badass dogs from idiot humans. You can donate directly on this memorial site.

Spotify Playlist

Music was so important to my mom. She couldn’t sing, but that didn’t stop her from trying. I’ve put together a playlist of songs that remind me of my mom. If you have any songs that you connect to Mindy, please add them to this playlist.

Updates

Update from July 2, 2022

Hello all. Today marks one year since my mother passed away. It's been a surreal, difficult year and I miss her an incredible amount. Her dogs, Charlie and Sally, have adjusted and seem happy. My dog, Donald, has been a superstar, taking on the role of big brother. I have successfully kept my mom's plants alive(ish). I made it through the most challenging year of teaching in human history. I want to thank everyone for their support and ask that you think of my mom today.

With love,
Michael

Update from Dec. 19, 2021

Morning all. Today is my mom's birthday. Last year, she was well enough to come down to my apartment on the first floor and have some cake with her closest friends, Aryn and Linda. We all sat socially distanced, freezing, bundled up with the patio door and windows open, eating ice cream cake. It's been nearly six months without her and the loss is somehow more tremendous than I could've imagined. When thinking of my mother, I'm only flooded with traumatic memories from her last year. I can't wait to be done with that part of the grieving process so I can focus on the happier times. Over the last bunch of months, so many people have reached out to me with stories about how my mother did something incredibly kind for them at some point. Those positive memories are so helpful and I'm very appreciative. I ask that you think of my mom today. Feel free to post a memory of her on this site.
