Michael was the first friend I made in high school. We sat right next to each other on the first day of Mr. Martinez's english class and were pretty inseparable for the rest of that year. During that time I was quite skinny and struggled with confidence issues in this new environment. Michael took it upon himself to start taking me to the YMCA by our school almost everyday after we got out to show me the ropes of working out. He not only made each session effective in progress but we had so much fun while doing it. This skill is a gift Michael gave to me that I get to now keep forever. I struggled in high school with mental illness but without this outlet and with out his friendship I would've been much worse off. I'm so happy I got to spend the time with him that I did, I miss those times but I'm happy they happened.

When I lost Michael, I thought I had felt as broken as a person could possibly be.

Khloe, my sweet Boston Terrier, stayed by my side through every agonizing breath since Michael passed, providing unconditional love and doing her best to comfort my shattered heart.

Sadly, yesterday, I had to make the heartbreaking decision to let Khloe go as her cancer progressed and she was in pain. I took her to Michael’s final resting spot, surrounded by the nature that she loved so much. I held her in my arms, sang to her softly while the vet gave her the injections, and whispered to her to find Michael and give him the biggest kiss from us. I told her to forever run with Michael in beautiful fields filled with flowers and birds and butterflies.  And to chase all the bunnies and squirrels and catch all the fat rats her heart desired.

Just six weeks after losing Michael, I lost Khloe too. She was my support dog, and came with me absolutely everywhere.  Michael loved her soo much too and I feel completely lost without them.

I’m posting this because  many of you have asked how you can help. I’m hoping to find my next support dog soon. I need a little girl Boston Terrier.  Michael insisted that he would only get a black and white ❤️

Sadly, there are so many scams out there, and I’m already feeling incredibly vulnerable. I want to work with a breeder who truly cares about raising healthy, well-adjusted Bostons because I need this girl to be around for a long time.

If anyone can recommend a reputable breeder or knows of a little girl Boston Terrier looking for a loving home, please reach out.

Thank you for listening, and continuing to hold space for me and my family.

Kim

I am so sorry for your loss. Michael made me smile every day. He initiated our annual "snowball fight." Michael was incredibly bright, and he was finished with his work on the day before winter break. He started ripping up paper, and when I asked him what he was doing, he replied, "snow?" I suggested that he use the paper in the recycle bin, and he was thrilled. We had so much fun - it became a tradition / holiday event every December.

Thank you all for for being a part of Michaels celebration of life. Michael was someone who loved deeply and touched all of our lives in the most beautiful ways.

We will cherish the meaningful reminders of the life he lived—his joy, his creativity, and the way he cherished time with family and friends.

We will hold tight to the memories we have and will carry his love forward as a way to continue lovung and honoring Michael.

We all know that Michael’s time with us was far too short. There was so much more we hoped to experience with him—so much more love, laughter, and life he had to give to this world.

Matt, Brianna Abbie and I have talked often and deeply about his passing. There are questions that will never have answers, and we’re left with a profound sadness and a void that nothing will ever fill.

But there are two things we know without a doubt:

Michael loved us deeply

and he knew we all loved him in return.

We also know that Michael would not want to be remembered for how he left this world. I recently had a dream where Michael told me……Mom my heart was just too big for this world.

He would want us to remember the good times—the laughter, the love, and the joy he brought into our lives.

So today, as I looked around at all the people whose lives he touched, and as I look at the beauty all around us:

I hear Michael’s voice telling us to:

Remember our good times—
my laughter, our song.

The beautiful life I shared with you,
while I was healthy and strong.

Please know my mind is at ease,
my soul is at rest.

I know you all loved me,
and for that, I was blessed.

Continue our traditions—
I am counting on you.

Remember me and smile,
in all that you do.

You know that I love you,
and I always will.

And to that, I say to Michael—

It shattered us to lose you,
but you did not go alone.

A part of us went with you,
the day you left this home.

We’ll do our best to honor you,
and wipe each other’s tears,

As we try not to dwell
on the pain and stolen years.

We know you wouldn’t want that,
so each day, we will try,

To look for your light
in the vastness of the sky.

I may not hear your spoken words,

But you are with me still.

I will feel you all around me,

In a world filled with your goodwill.

I’ll watch for you in sunsets,

or as the butterflies go by,

In spring’s blooming flowers

and the stars up in the sky.

These hills will sing your name.

your spirit flies with bees.

Your voice will carry in the wind,

and the rustle of the trees.

I’ll see your smile with each spider

who visits me in the shower.

And when I feed the pigs

in the the early morning hour.

In those moments

I will know that you are near,

And, I will hold on to all we had,

memories I hold so dear.

And yes, Michael, I will always remember

our beautiful lifes song.

I love you my sweet boy. Be free.

Michael was a great friend and excellent competitor. He will be missed dearly.

Kim,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this difficult time.

Nikki
