Background
In lieu of flowers, we invite you to contribute in one of two meaningful ways to honor Michael’s memory—each reflecting the beauty, passion, and kindness he brought into the world.
At his final resting place, we will plant a dedicated tree surrounded by his favorite wildflowers. This peaceful living memorial will symbolize his beautiful soul and the life, love, and joy he shared with everyone who knew him.
In addition, we are establishing the Michael Ross Melee Fund, inspired by one of Michael’s greatest joys: Melee. This community brought him immense happiness and a deep sense of connection. Each year, around his birthday, we hope to sponsor an individual who dreams of attending a Melee tournament but lacks the financial resources. Donations will help cover the costs of tournament admission, airfare, hotel, and other travel expenses—ensuring others can experience the same sense of belonging that meant so much to Michael.
Your donation will help us celebrate Michael’s life in these two heartfelt ways: by creating a lasting tribute in nature and by fostering social connection through one of his most cherished passions. We believe that connection with others is essential to overall well-being.
This fund allows others to form friendships, share experiences, and feel part of a supportive, joyful community. Your generosity helps carry Michael’s spirit forward—creating beauty, connection, and hope in his name.
