Dear Green family,
I have been struggling with what I can say to adequately express my condolences. Mike was more than a boss and mentor for my 18 years at DMRA, he was a true friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Β I wish you peace.

Remembering Mike Green
All of us who were fortunate to know Mike as a good friend are shocked and saddened by his sudden and unexpected passing. He was always cheerful, ebullient, bubbly, excited, and just plain fun to be around. At our monthly PVR Bad Boys lunches, Mike often tested me on my minerals & rocks background, sometimes even bringing to our meeting samples that he had personally collected. I found it prudent to bring a hands lens to study these specimens during our get-togethers. Properly identified, such rocks & minerals silently testify to aspects of the Earthβs complex history; consequently, they evoked many geological stories. Mike was especially anxious to get my geo-interpretation of those βtreasures" that he and his grandson had discovered in their explorations. Such fun! In finding/collecting. Ever enthusiastic, curious, that was Mike. We are all so sorry for your lossβours too. We will all remember him with fondness and a smile. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.

(I regret not being able to attend the celebration of Mikeβs life, but I suffered a nasty fall several weeks ago, and cannot easily walk, stand, or sit in comfort. Also broke my right wrist. Instead, Iβll be with you in spirit, smiling as I remember Mike.)

Dear Joan, Pam and Eugene,
In the past weeks my thoughts have often returned to Mike. Generous, jubilant, intelligent and active are characteristics that first come to mind but he was much more than that. Even in the short time I knew him it was obvious he wanted everyone to succeed, which is something I'll take to heart.

Mike and I served on the Portola Valley Board together. He was the person to count on to rationally analize the problems and suggest good solutions. He could always be counted on. In addition he knew how to approach people in a diplomatic way. Thank you MIke for being such a good role model.
