I am so very sad to hear about Mike. He had an impact on my life and was a wonderful friend as we grew with each other from teenagers into adults. He has and always will hold a special place in my heart. With love, Casey (Gunn) Sommers
Our hearts break for you as you endure the loss of your dear Michael. We know how impossible it is to fill the hole in your world with the loss of a son. We trust that many tender and loving memories will sustain you and bring you peace. God bless you and your whole family. Ted and Jane
Michael in his best health was so charming, smart, and witty. His wide, easy smile lit up the room, and he made everyone feel welcome. I remember what an impact he made on our high school peers with his leadership and community-building. It sounds like he continued that strength at PATH, even at his depths. And I’ll never forget how when we watched the Clinton inauguration parade together, he was clever and adventurous enough to climb a tree for a better view, and help me to do the same. His struggles, diseases, and death are heartbreaking.
I clearly see Michael over the years as he grew up, became that young magician, attended Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, was a Mt Carmel high school. He was a smiling happy young man. My heart aches for his family’s loss. May God grant him rest and welcome him home. Cheryl Wilson
Mike with his charm, beaming smile, humour, intelligence, friendliness, and his many talents (speech and debate drama performances) made a huge impression on me. I knew him as my daughter's team mate, but even otherwise, he would have definitely drawn attention to himself with his friendliness. May his soul rest in peace and may his family know what an impact Mike has made in other people's lives. Much love to his family.
Although we didn’t know Michael, we know his parents. Their love for him was strong, true and without judgment. May the choirs of angels welcome Michael, a beloved son.
