I discovered totally by chance today bout Matthew's passing. I cannot believe he is gone. Sadly I lost touch with Matthew as an adult (My fault) but we were fast friends during 6th form at Royal Russell. We spent a great deal of time together bombing around south west London in his Blue Golf convertible. Eventually we did a sponsored drive around the coast of the UK to raise money for an MRI scanner. Sadly I crashed the car on a bend in Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire. We also once went camping together but I can't remember where. What I loved most about him was his wit and most excellent sense of humour, I used to totes forget about his mobility issues. We used to sometimes bunk off school, and get KFC (His favourite at the time) and watch movies together all afternoon. I never got to know his partner or children. I'd totally forgotten about him getting hit in the head, proof after everything else life threw at him, that there is no justice whatsoever in this world. Matthew was a truly beautiful soul. The world truly is a lesser place for his passing.

Dear Janet and Peter and Boys,
Please accept our condolences on your loss a few months back.
Jackie S. told us about Matthew’s passing today.
He was so brave. I’m certain that he is in a special place now where there is only Goodness.
Very respectfully,
Robert and Nancy Levitt

We have such happy memories of standing on many riverbanks chatting and laughing with Matt and April for hours on end in the sun, rain, snow, wind whilst watching Kieran and Sam racing . Matt was always so cheerful and positive. Sending all our love to April, Kieran and Katie xxx ❤️

I am very saddened to hear about Matt's passing and we all have moments with him that we remember. This was one such happy moment when Matt opened his leaving presents from the WIMM in the summer of 2019. I was struggling with what to get Matt and in the end we got very lucky in finding something that meant something to him and was a location that he was familiar with.

I was so saddened by the passing of Matthew.
I think I'll always remember him for being so witty, kind and caring, as well as his zest for life, come what may.
Matt was a wonderful friend and a great example to us all to live life to the full.
