杉浦政則（享年68歳）は、2025年7月22日、ハワイ・ホノルルにて家族に見守られながら安らかに永眠いたしました。

神奈川県・葉山に生まれ、カリフォルニア、オハイオを経て、人生の後半は大好きな海に囲まれたハワイで過ごしました。

生涯を通じて寿司職人としての道を貫き、オハイオに本格的な寿司文化を広めた先駆者として、多くの人々の尊敬と親しみを集めました。

ゴルフと野球をこよなく愛し、明るくユーモアたっぷりの性格で、どこへ行っても人に愛される存在でした。

現在、近親者のみでの海への散骨を予定しております。マサが愛したハワイの海で、静かにお別れをする予定です。

Masanori Sugiura, age 68, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, in Honolulu, with his family by his side.

Born in Hayama, Japan, Masanori’s life took him from the coast of Kanagawa to California, then Ohio, and finally to Hawaii.  

A devoted sushi chef throughout his life, he was a pioneer in bringing high-quality sushi to Ohio, earning the respect and admiration of many.

He was endlessly outgoing, always cracking jokes, and deeply loved by everyone who knew him. He found joy in the simple pleasures: a round of golf, a baseball game, and the sound of waves nearby.

He is survived by his wife and daughter, who will be honoring him with a private ash scattering at sea, a peaceful farewell in the place he cherished most.
