Mary's obituary
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Marie Fish, born Mary Elizabeth Wolf on January 15, 1955.
On January 4, 2024, Marie peacefully concluded her journey after bravely facing cancer at age 68.
Marie is survived by her three children, Justin, Jessica, and Jason Fish, grandchildren Olivia, Ryan, Emily, and James, brothers James, Michael, John, and Thomas Wolf, sister Susan Wolf, sisters-in-law Catherine and Donna Wolf, daughters-in-law Sylwia and Briana Fish, son-in-law John Michael “Devon” Caruso, as well as her many loving nieces and nephews. She is remembered fondly by the entire Fish family from her previous marriage to Edwin Fish.
Marie now reunites with her parents Marie and James, brothers Donald, Kevin, Patrick, and nephews Christopher and Michael, who preceded her in death.
Marie’s vibrant spirit and infectious charisma touched countless lives, particularly among the young adults she mentored and guided. She’ll be forever recalled for her festive enthusiasm, always dressing up for Halloween and singing out loud during the Christmas season. Many will remember her anytime “Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer” song comes on.
Marie loved her family fiercely. She advocated for togetherness and to never forget to be a family. Marie’s three children were her pride and joy. She also adored her grandchildren, and especially loved listening to their perspectives and interests. Marie’s most cherished times were also spent with her family in Chicago. She looked forward to the “Wolf Christmas Parties” every year!
Most of all Marie loved nature. Animals would find her mysteriously wherever she went. Racoons, cats, birds, and squirrels always seemed to approach her when they needed help. Her nurturing spirit extended to flora. Her love for plants was passed down to her children and grandchildren. She would pet and talk to plants, exuding energy to bring life and growth around her.
Her tranquil haven was amidst the towering Redwood trees, where she sought eternity. Marie’s spirit finds eternal peace in the Santa Cruz Mountains Redwood Forest, her chosen final resting place.
May She Rest In Eternal Serenity and Glory
