Marie Wheeler Kar
Marie Kar passed away unexpectedly on January 27, 2024. She was born in Springhill, Kansas on January 18, 1938. Marie grew up in a loving family on a farm in Pensacola, Oklahoma. She moved to the Spring, Texas area in 1975. She married Robert Kar in 1991, and retired from her work as an office manager. They spent each summer in Long Island, NY, where she formed many lasting friendships.
The word most often used to describe Marie was “sweet”. She was truly a unique person who did not have anything bad to say about anyone. She loved and encouraged those around her at all times. Her family will desperately miss her loving presence. Her friends include long-time college roommates, tennis partners, bridge groups, exercise buddies, work associates, and many others.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Floyd Wheeler, Martha Anderson, Mary Catherine Butler, and Johnny Butler and her sons Rob Kar and David Kar. She is survived by her spouse, Robert Kar, children Glenn Bone and Carye, Karen Kleinen and Paul, Matt Kar and Diane. Her surviving siblings include Ina Rogers, Paul Butler, and Tommy Butler. Marie is also survived by her aunt, Lucille Ervin. She has 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who will miss her loving influence. Her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones mourn her passing.
A Celebration of Life will be held this Friday, February 2, 2024 at The Black Walnut Cafe, 9000 New Trails Dr, The Woodlands, Texas from 11:30 am until 2:30 pm. We welcome anyone who is able to attend and look forward to sharing our memories together. RSVPs to 832-955-4128 will be appreciated.
