Maria Fleitas-Zamora, 67, of Plano, TX passed away peacefully on September 19, 2023. For those who knew her, it was obvious how fiercely she loved her God, family & friends, the beach and her dogs Lily and Ivy.
Although we realize this may be a difficult time for those who cared about her, she wouldn't want you to be sad. In celebrating Maria's life, we remember the happiness she spread and the warmth she brought to every room. She leaves a legacy of love, compassion, and resilience, forever imprinted in the hearts of her children, family and friends. Her infectious laughter and radiant smile brightened the lives of all who had the privilege to be in her presence.
Born to Puerto Rican and Cuban heritage, Maria held her roots close to her heart, carrying the vibrant spirit of her motherland with grace and pride. She believed in the power of food and could bridge divides by offering a shared table with her famous orange rice, fostering unity, understanding and goodwill.
Maria's life was anchored in her deep faith, a source of comfort, strength and guidance throughout her journey. Her unwavering devotion to God was a cornerstone of her character, influencing every aspect of her life and shining through her interactions with others.
Maria's memorial service is in the final planning stages and will take place on Friday, October 6th. Details will be shared with family and friends in the coming days.
