Dear Mashimoni, I love you an…
Dear Mashimoni, I love you and will always love you no matter where you are. Since the day I was born you equally played the role of my mother just like my biological mother. Every time I hear about the love and compassion you had towards me from the time I was discharged from the nursing home with an acute jaundice after my birth makes me wonder what a generous lady you were. You always made sure I was in a secured and comfortable zone. Apart from doing every bit for didibhai and pukai dada you did a lot for me. You always used to keep a close eye on when I am coming to deshapriya park. Each and every day I stayed at deshapriya park residence you used to cook for me and made sure I had my meal on time. You gave equal love to my wife as well. I remember the days we all used to chat over a cup of coffee and snacks. After you moved to USA every two days your calls were mandatory, be it at midnight or early morning. You were an outstanding lady mashimoni and an all-rounder. No one can match your enthusiasm and fighting spirit. I will always love you and keep you in my prayers. Much love to you. Sarnath 🙏

To my beloved Chito Pishie,

You were a light to this world....I remember whenever I would to go India, I was always eager to visit your apartment and seek your blessing. You always greeted me with a warm hug and smile! We would talk for hours, catching up on life and sharing stories. You would also always ask for your favorite snack, Cheetos.  I will miss and cherish this tradition of ours. India trips will be different without you, however, I know that I will always have these memories to hold onto. May you rest in peace ❤️ I love you forever and always❤️❤️

We will all miss you, Dida. My best memories with her personally would be eating her delicious cooking in India and experiencing many Indian traditions and cultural spots. I will always appreciate the way you took care of my brother and I as kids, as well as my entire family and many other people that you’ve come across. May you rest in peace ❤️🙏

Dear Oendrila di and Neel

Disheartened to know about kakima. I am so very sorry.

Kakima was such a kind soul, who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. I remember our childhood days when she would stand near the window and we would talk. She would never miss  that cute smile on her face. Her voice echoes even now. As I write I recall those days tears roll down. Thinking of you both and kaka at this difficult time.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to the entire family. She is in safer hands now. May her soul Rest In Peace. She will keep blessing us.

We grew up together as part of a joint family in Calcutta, India. My memory of our Butidi (Mandira) is our childhood playing and chatting whenever she visited us and stayed during the holidays. One fond memory, we (all cousins) played cricket in the front courtyard of the house and her batting was unbeatable. The boys got exasperated throwing the ball at her as most of the time it went over the boundary. Off course there are many memories as we grew up, but then everyone got married and moved on following our destiny. I was so very sad to hear of her passing, May her soul rest in peace. My prayers are for Harishda and her children for strength and peace. Lovingly remembering her, Bapi

Every winter she donated blankets to remote rural areas. She always helped anyone who needed her assistance. She addressed each person as “my son”, “my daughter” which showed her caring nature.
In response to "What act of kindness did you witness from Mandira?"
