Lou was a special friend. We went to church together, went to navy reserve meetings together and worked together. During one of our conversations we determined that our families actually "met" when his family was moving to Washington and my family was returning to Washington from a trip to Idaho. A green VW wagon passed is. Lots of kidsin the van as compared to the four in our station wagon. We passed each other for miles, it seemed. Lou served the church faithfully. Including a couple of years as my counselor in a bishopric. I could always depend on Lou for insight in things being discussed, starting with "You know Bishop..." I visited Lou
In response to "How did you first meet Lou?"

Commander Dorney was very simply one of the best men I have ever known—a man of wit and wisdom and who truly had the strength of his own convictions. Bless you, Dear Commander, and may your example and memories continue to inspire and motivate so many of us who knew you, who loves you, and who looked up to you❣️
I would like to be able to meet both the children and spouses, and Louis’s grandchildren. I know you will all miss him dearly. His death was a sad day for everyone who knew and loved him.

We are so very sorry for your loss. Our hearts are touched at the loss of a close and loved friend. We reach out to all of you of Lou's close and extended family with our love for you. May you be blessed with peace in the coming days as you embrace all those great memories of your lives with such a great man as Louis. He has told me often in our regular phone calls of his great love for all of you.            Bill & Ginni Lloyd
