“Mr. Rich” was one of the funniest, kindest, generous, most unassuming men I have ever had the pleasure to meet.  He always took the time to speak, joke, and hang with all of Scott’s knucklehead friends, such as myself.  He ingratiated himself to a bunch of teenaged boys who, somehow, not only never minded his presence, but welcomed and cherished it.  He never said a word about us “borrowing” his vintage Corvette, although, with the wisdom of years and parenting under my belt, I now realize that he had to have known.  We weren’t very skilled at acting up, and I know now that he and Mrs. Rich must have laughed with each other about just how goofy we actually were.  He lived the example as to how a father should be, which was invaluable to those of us who didn’t have such good models to learn from.  Quite simply, he is, was, and always will be the BEST.

Speaking of the BEST, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Mrs. Rich.  Ever his equal partner in every sense of the word, her kindness and grace was always noted, and will always be appreciated.  Her “Bob’s Barricade” stunt will forever be one of my all-time favorite stunts - and lessons - ever bestowed upon me.  Thank you, Mrs. Rich.  The prank worked, and I haven’t committed a felony since!

My deepest condolences to Mrs. Rich, Scott, Stephanie, Sean, and the entire family.  You and Mr. Rich were blessed to have each other, and your amazing family is a living testament to the two of you.  Thank you for allowing us knuckleheads to be a small part of your lives.

We have been friends with Larry and Kathy for over 30 years. We initially met through business, evolving into a beautiful personal relationship. Larry was a very kind and thoughtful person with high ethical standards. Both he and Kathy were the most gracious people, down to earth and fun. We mourn the loss of Larry and wish Kathy sweet memories of her beloved Larry.

Dearest Kathy and family,

I was saddened to learn of Larry’s passing, but praising God because we know that he is now healed in the arms of Jesus. He was a friend to all he met and will certainly be missed by many.

Sending love, hugs and prayers, Rhetta

Kathy -  We were so sorry to hear of Larry’s passing and how difficult it must be to lose someone who loved life and his family so much.   May your special memories of him remain with you and know that he is looking down on all of you with all of his love and affection.   Connie & Mike O’Keeffe
We were friends at  St Juliana’s 3rd -4th grade, 7th grade and St Ann’s 9th grade.  Brothers at TKO in high school years.  It was great to see him at the  St Ann’s reunion  2011.  RIP Larry .  There are not many of us still around but we have memories.

I was so sorry to hear about Larry's passing. We were classmates at St. Ann's.  He was always such a gentleman and so generous in helping with our class reunions.  My condolences to Kathy, all his beautiful children and precious grandchildren.
Rich Family. I am so sorry for your loss. The loss of a loved one is extremely painful and it leaves a void in our hearts and lives. Please know that our God Jehovah years to bring our loved back to life. John 5:28,29 says  Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. May this promise that is soon to be fulfilled give you comfort and strength.
Faced with the prospect of buying a new car, I was terrified.  I was 40, newly single again with three children, and a teacher, living on a Catholic high school teacher’s salary.  Someone told me that my student Scott Rich’s dad had something to do with Toyota. Scott put me in touch with Mr. Rich.  I explained that what I needed was a salesperson who would walk me through the process and give me a fair price because I’d never be able to “cut a deal.”  Mr. Rich told me to stay by the phone (phones didn’t travel with us then). Within minutes, a gentleman identifying himself as Al Hendrickson called and told me to meet a salesman in Coral Springs.  I’d never been to the dealership. I didn’t know Larry Rich’s position with Toyota, and I was shocked to see Al Hendrickson’s name on the marquee.  The salesman kindly maneuvered me through the process until it was time to deal with the finance department, where I was asked if I wanted to add some particular coverage, which I declined.  The financial rep excused himself for a minute and came back and asked if I could afford just another ten dollars.  I agreed to that.  A woman from another office passed by and said, “I don’t know who you are, but my boss said that you were to get that coverage at whatever price you could afford.”  Still when I pass that dealership, I cry just a little bit.  The kindness Larry Rich, and because of Mr. Rich, the kindness Al Hendrickson showed me, is something that gives me faith.  I couldn’t “cut a deal,” but I could teach Hamlet. “Now cracks a noble heart. Good night, sweet prince,/And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”
Larry was such a great guy!  I remember way back to Riverhills  Dr.   We have so many wonderful memories of his energy and amazing hospitality from parties at your house to rides on the big boat to hearing about the car racing.  We send our love and prayers❤️❤️

We are at a deep lost for this wonderful man and his excellent family. Kathy has always been the dearest friend. I will find some pictures. But wanted to reach out now.

Love you,

Jody and John Wyllys
