Kevin's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin Keahi Palafox, an extraordinary man who touched countless lives with his kindness and vibrant spirit. Kevin left us unexpectedly on September 30, 2023, leaving a void that can never be filled, but amazing memories that will stay with us forever.

Kevin's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, exploration, and adventure. He was known for his kindheartedness, a voracious (and sometimes sassy) sense of humor, resilience, selflessness, and a boundless spirit of giving. He was a courageous adventurer, one who was not afraid to take the road less traveled in his relentless pursuit of discovery and new experiences. His fun-loving personality brought joy to all those who were fortunate enough to know and be taught by him.

He truly exemplified living life to the fullest, reminding us all of the importance of seizing every moment and living with no regrets. He explored the world, visiting all seven continents, 40 countries, and 50 states before he turned 40, inspiring many with his thirst for adventure.

He is survived by his spouse, Chris, who is grateful to have been by his side through many of his adventures. He also leaves behind his mother, Susan Koide, father, Edgar Palafox, step father, Robin Koide, and step mother Lara Palafox, who instilled in him many of the values that shaped his life. His siblings, David, Sarah (Jordan), Amanda (Derek), Kalina, Kiara, Tracie, Jennifer (Jon) will remember Kevin's vivacious spirit and his unwavering love for his family.

Kevin's life will be celebrated on October 15, 2023, at 1:00 PM at The Royal Hawaiian Resort in Waikiki. This will be followed by a paddle-out at Waikiki Beach at 3:30 PM.

An additional celebration will follow on October 22, 2023 in Las Vegas, NV. His family, friends, students, and loved ones will gather to honor his memory, sharing stories of his kindness, courage, humor, and curiosity.

With his passing, we are reminded to live with the same kindness, boldness, and generosity that characterized Kevin's life. Kevin's legacy and spirit will live on in our memories, stories, smiles, and hearts. A Hui Hou. Until we meet again...
